Default Changing out the hose connectors in an InnovaCOOL

I want to run 1/2" lines. I figure I can wrap my little brain around getting the old ones out and the new ones in but...

What to buy? I'm not a plumber, and looking at all the choices at McMaster-Carr sends me into buyer's vapor lock.

What part do I need?

Help?

p.s., I think this is whats in there now:

10mm Compression Fitting.
10mm OD
8mm ID
1/4" BSP Threads

(not sure about the 1/4" BSP threads)

Copied from an old posting from PH:

If you have the complete Innovatek setup, I would (humbly) suggest to just leave it as is. They have some pretty good engineers dealing with wc systems in Germany.

If you decide to repace with normal barbs, you probably can just use a normal 1/4" NPT x 1/2" barb and torque it into place. The BSP fittings are slightly different, but not too much. It just takes a bit of muscle...

This is what I did and it works great, use only the straight fittings though the 45 degree fittings will interfere with the clamp that holds the block to the MB and the 90's wont go at all.

I think McMaster sells BSP threaded fittings, so might as well use those.

McMaster sellls everything. I'm just not smart enough to figure out which part I need.

They have umpteen pages of compression fittings.

I originaly purchased the adapters but didnt use them. They severely limit the flow. They thread way too deep into the block before the O-ring made contact.
Just an FYI

The point is adapters are not the way to go with this block. Just go buy you a couple 1/4 NPT to 1/2 barb fittings. Use teflon tape on the threads and screw the fittings into the block. They will thread in and with the teflon tape will seal. all you need to do is snug the fittings tight if you over tighten them bad things can happen. I think I got a total of 4 threads in mine. Easy way to do it is hold Block in one hand and wrench in other. when you cant hold the block from turning in your hand that should be tight enough.

Are you using lpain old hose barbs, or Compression fittings like the ones the block comes with?

I am as well. If you can order the bsp ones I suppose you might as well, but the normal 1/4" NPT work fine.

Well with the larger hose it dropped my idle temp by 2-3 degrees celsius and my load temps are down 4-5 degress celsius. Overall I say a nice drop for the little money and the small time spent!
