Also at www.lgpc.com (an alternate website that seems to be slightly different).

The "Little Giant Pump Company", based in Oklahoma city, has been around since the 20's, if memory serves right, but was then known as the "Little Giant Evaporator Company", making evaporative coolers... Faith? Destiny?

I have a Little Giant 2-MDQ-SC myself.

The pump you pointed to, could probably be adapted, if you could seal the bottom, or more specifically, rebuild the bottom of it. The problem is that it *could* be noisy.

I've seen many pumps like that one, and most were *relatively* quiet. They're perfect for draining a pool.

Going over the spec sheet, it's a "waste water utility pump", rated for max flow of 1200gph (@ 1 foot), with a max head of 26.3 feet. I don't see anything about continuous or intermitent duty, but that's what you really need to know.

edit: I have some brochures from them, let me see if I can dig up something useful.
