So I have tried a million e-mail clients. They always let me check the box to either download mail off of the yahoo server or keep it on the server. However, I switch between a desktop and a laptop. I'd like to use an actual e-mail client program for each one. Is it possible to get a program where if I delete e-mails, it deletes them on the server, but if I leave them, they stay there. Or like if I check my e-mail online and delete old e-mails, those e-mails which are on my e-mail client program will be deleted as well? I'd just like to be able to check my mail and have all the messages, marked as read/unread, be the same between the yahoo online mail and the two client softwares. LMK.

Um ... Outlook Express. It automajically configures your hotmail acct, and you can enter your Yahoo acct manually.

Go into "Accounts", go to "New Mail", select HTTP, "Other", and put in the login information for that server. w00t.

Google it, cos I don't know of any others. The reason M$ did it in O/OE was to allow for Hotmail use ... but we can use it for other things as well.

i use outlook and use it for my purdue email account setup as an imap account. imap would probably be better for the laptop/desktop setup because it syncs with whats on the server instead of downloading all the mail off like pop3.

Yahoo doesn't provide the HTTP Server... just the POP3. Does anyone know the info for yahoo's?

Yea I use IMAP too. Unfortunately OE is a shitty IMAP client and I find Outlook to be very slow and sometimes buggy. Such is life I guess.
