Default Fragapalooza 2003

Just an FYI - registration is open for this years event. I remember pH talking about attending this year, and I'd suggest anyone else within driving range come as well, it's wicked fun. Biggest LAN party in Canada. And if you need another reason to come, the legal drinking age here in Alberta is 18 and there is a strip-club just across the street from the trade-center where the event is - last year if you had a Fragapalooza name-tag you got in with no cover charge

Info, registration, etc. at www.fragapalooza.com If you have a question thats not answered there, I'll do my best to answer it here.

Alberta is a canadian province to the north of Montana. Edmonton, where fragapalooza is, is probably about 5 hours drive from the US/Canada border.

I probably won't be able to make it, but if I'm not doing anything else (unlikely) I'll hitch a ride there with pH if he goes .

Attached picture shows the location of Edmonton fairly well. KnightElite is right in it being about a 5 hour drive from the border to Montana (I've made the drive before) though you can do it in 4 if you have some guts and/or a good radar detector. Took me about 28 hours to drive from here to San Francisco, including a few short (15-minute) rest-stops, and about 4 hours of sleep, and switching drivers every 4 or 5 hours with a friend. I know a guy who drove from here to Vegas in a day of straight-driving, no stops except to fill up gas.

If anyone flies up here (depending on numbers of course, I can't drive 20 people in my RSX) I may be able to pick you up at the airport / drive you back. But I'm involved in setup/organization of the event this year and may be busy. I don't know yet.

We also have the biggest mall in the world here

Searching around on MapQuest shows there are Fort St. Johns all over the place. First search found one in the US somewhere, second search gave me a city in the middle of a lake in mid-Canada, and then I finally found one in Alberta, just guessing by distance on the map I'd say around an hour and a 1/2 drive from Edmonton. If you are really curious, head over to www.mapquest.com yourself and search a bit - it will even give you driving directions if you want.
