Maybe, I'm just looking for something to do, too.

And it's a monkey *turkey*, thank you very much.

It's all good!

"Turkey": noted, and corrected

The level sensor is a neat idea. You can actually pick up pin connector headers: they've got pins seperated at 0.1" intervals.

the cost doesn't warrant the functionality, but it's got an "uber" factor to it

0.1-inch intervals is a little extreme. I was going to drill/tap the lucite for 10 1-inch copper machine screws, and just thread them all the way down. Someone at work suggested using aligator clips for the connections to give the whole thing an "authentic engineering appearance".

If the end has the desired appearance and functionality, it always justifies the means (and expensie). It's kinda like buying an entertainment center, and then being "forced" to go out and buy a new (larger) TV that fills the entire void.

And yeah, it's cool having something that nobody else has, no matter how useless it ultimately might be.

You should make you a little LED graph display that shows the water level. Like you see on the stero equilizers. Goes from red at the bottom then yellow then green. That would be cool. You could fit it all in a 5.25 bay. Have the graph on it, a couple LED displays for the water and room temp and CPU temp. You could even fit in a few light up switches for fan controllers.... Hummmm.... Nah, I already have to many unfinished projects...

I had considered the led graph thing, and I still am.

I already have a rheobus 3.5-inch illuminated fan controller (four fans).
