question about painting a radiator
i was wondering if i would run into any problems painting my dtek radiator. i purchased the unpainted one figuring that i didnt really care about the look plus i wanted to save money since i can easily attain paint for free if i ever wanted to paint it. now when i look at my system, the system doesnt have a professional look because my radiator looks very unfinished. what kind of paint should i use if i wanted to paint my radiator? will it decrease its performance at all? is it ok to paint the fins as well or am i suppose to just paint around the outside of it?

Just don't paint the fins
As far as I know, you can paint the Radiator, Just don't paint the fins, It might insulate them. How much I don't know, but I have a Maxxxpert and I don't plan on painting It. And I'm still acquiring parts and only rently ordered a Gemini Cool water block (the Rev. 2 block) for My socket A cpu, The gpu will be next as soon as I can afford It. As ebay is the source of My funding right now.

I painted my heater core with some glossy black spray paint. I did the sides and the fins. The paint didn't go too far in on the fins though, since I sprayed it at a sharp angle, so I don't think insulation should be a problem. I'd say go for it, just spray down at the fins from one direction then flip and do toward the other direction, it should look ok.

yea, what razor said :P also, you should clean the rad off and PRIME it befor painting it. it is bare metal after all; the primer will help the paint stick better.

i used a dremel with a brass wire wheel. i used turpentine and rubbing alcohol to clean off any sticky goop first.
