Concur with your opinion. A note on units:- LPM is a better option than GPM in that it elimates the confusion between Imperial gallons and US gallons. |

now I can't wait to get a manometer and flow meter set up; my pump curve claims 3 GPM at 8' head. (or 11 LPM at 2.4m if you prefer metric)
I find that metric vs imperial I just use whatever is the standard... farenheit CPU temps mean absolutely nothing to me, but with the pump I'm always going on gallons. |

![]() oh well i can just hope that usa will convert to meteric someday, when all of those hicks and hippies all die out or something. |

I have a black edge, a Maze3, and a Maze4. The difference when the bypass is open or closed can be reliably calculated from the resistance of the radiator I'm using (very large) and the summed height of the tower. I get about 1 1/3 gpm when running with the bypass closed, and with it open I'm getting close to 8 gpm total (2 2/3 gpm per block). I've measured the difference in flow to over 6C before when fine tuning my bypass ... but granted, I have quite a unique system. Perhaps due to other considerations as well (such as reservoir heat load balancing, cooling efficiency per flow, and other factors), the situation was heightened in my case. I do know, however, that going from a 500 GPH pump to a 350 GPH pump in a previous rig raised the temps about 2C.
Maybe I should take a look at those graphs again ... I could have sworn those were GPM ... if that's the case then let me pull my hoof out of my piehole. Still, however, it needs to be said that the measurement preference argument is futile, and there is no point trolling posts looking to start an argument. Oh, and Sol, I'm neither a hick nor a hippy ... I just like my pints the way they are. Screw that half-liter garbage.

about the hippie and hick, that was just a little jest, and little annonyance, oh well
![]() anyway i like meteric for most stuff cos its easey to convert it, but that's more for laborary type of stuff but for day to day sort of stuff, i really don't give a flying shit what sort of measurment it is i just take it as it is i guess. if they say this pump is doing 8 GPM i say great, if they say its doing 23 liter/min i say great. its mostly the laborary sort of stuff where i like the meteric system but outside that i don't relally care, it would be nice to have meteric for few stuff but oh well. i can live with it ![]() |
