it doesn't look stupid to me, you give me any well done paintjob over the wrap, but how many ppl can paint a case properly.

Also fake mods ( like putting a sticker over the case instead of painting it) are like fake boobs... yeh they look ok from a distance, and they may work as needed... but you gotta have standards

the first point after my post is very valid come to think of it. it would look a bit like vinyl on the floor instead of real tiles when it starts to wear.

the second point, i don't know, i'd have to look from closeby to know if it would be obvious.

anyhow, you're not going to score points when u goto a lan showing your 'mod' off, or posting it in some galery.

Used TASTEFULLY they could be good - if you protect them with a coat of varnish or something. It could look nice but I can't see covering your entire case in it is going to be a good idea.

Actually they are more like a shrink-wrap, that you can put and take off any time.

I am with Joe on this one. Not sure it is a good thing or not.

(My own Opinion) I think all case mods are a waste unless functional though. Not like making your computer look leet is going to get you any babes (decent one's anyway). Might make your dick look longer though I guess. Of course that could be from jacking off to all that downloaded porn on that fancy looking comp.

I think it is great for the amature modder....
I know i will never be able to paint a case like that...

on the other hand all though it may look good...
i took a lot of pleasure in painting my case...
Pics Here (nothing fancy though)

slapping one of those wraps on seems like cheating to me...
but with my phucked up morals what is cheeting to others isn't cheeting to me...

I can only justify building 1 machine a year...(to the wife)
so i like to take my time on it...

my 2¢ worth

According the the website its allows you "2B Leet"

I've got to agree non-performance mods aren't important in my mind. However I do spray some paint onto my rig to cover all the dremel slips and such.

It does seem sort of like cheating, but since I'd never be able to paint something like that, it really depends on whether or not the wraps look good and stay looking good.

Now a porn wrap would be functional, then I'm not stuck without porn when my computer crashes

I'd do 'non-functional' mods to my case, if I had one Since all the 'functional' mods with extra heatsinks, bigger heatsinks, and watercooling, still require the computer to actually tell me there's a difference, I couldn't notice it myself, case mods are much more visible and no less practical.

Most of my case mods are performance related but I WON'T do a rush job I'll do it nice.. do it neat and in essence it will be asthetic. (in fact only one that isn't is a stick on ALu bessel)

though I see the point of people modding their cases... it is to make them indivdual.. I know for a fact I am the only person with a case like mine even though there are thousadns of PC70s out there... mine is unique.

i dunno, it seems they could look nice if done properly, but you'd have to do a dang carefull job of it for it to look good up close. also, it kinda seems like it takes away somewhat from the guys who actually can do that to their case, so that kinda bugs me (although like it was mentioned, kinda like the diference between vinyl & real tile) but my opinion's still out on the whole case mod thing. i just finished painting my case black (it hides better that way & the front was really ugly) & my next thing is gonna be a stealthed stereo vu meter on the front (my pc gets lots of use playing music so i figured it'd be fun to do some simple electronics) but i decided to go for the sound deadening aspect of things instead of painting the inside of my case & windowing it. anyway, its a work in progress, so who knows. and i'm definately not trying to be leet or anything, but its like boli said, its about taking a pc that tons of other people also have & making it unique. anyway, my $0.02 worth, i'm goin to sleep.
