I found this article on overclockers. I know it refers to mounting heatsincs, but the same method can be used for waterblocks.

Sure i believe it, yet it is permanent. Arctic Silver Adhesive is actually much better than the pastes, but would you use it on your WB and CPU? I wouldn't.

yea, but arctic silver is thick. What makes this good is that it runs really thin and the weight makes the layer really thin. You wouldn't be able to get the layer that thin with paste.
And no, I wouldnt do this to my CPU. Maybe GPU or NB.....maybe
