Eheim 1250 EMI question

I have a Eheim 1250. I turned it on next to my monitor and it made the picture shake which means it has some EMI. I was planning on putting it right under my CD-RW in the empty bays, but is the EMI is gonna screw with my CD drive or not ?

BTW, it has to be about 6 inches away from the screen to affect it, it's a Sony Multiscan 100SX 15 inch.

If your case is steel, it may do an adequate job of shielding the pump on its own.

If the shielding from the case is inadequate, you can wrap a shell of steel around the pump. (e.g. a tin can) Anything that a magnet will stick to will provide some shielding.

I can go into more detail if necessary, or go to oc-forums and search for "ferromagnetic".
