Was browsing a local pet store looking for water pumps. Found a box on the bottom shelf on sale that had obviously been sitting for quite a while. Looked at the label and it was some impressive numbers, it also said "titanium pump" on the outside so since the box was opened I checked it out. It looks VERY impressive and I just looked it up on their site since I had never heard of these pumps before. The pump does 120 gph @ 24' head
![]() Was wondering if this pump just might have a bit too much pressure for a water cooled rig. The specs are a bit off the charts compared to the Johnsons and Iwaki's I've found. It's expensive but I don't mind paying more for quality and since I just recieved my WW block I'm gonna wait until I have something much better than my Swifty 300 to run it. Any comments or if anyones seen these let me know. The one at the store is the T1 I believe. Custom Sea Life Last edited by rocketmanx; 12-12-2003 at 11:27 PM. |

Buy online - I've seen $150.
That's a powerful pump, I'd leak test the entire system out of the case before putting that much water pressure near my baby. I assume you would mount the pump externally? I wouldn't want to add another 98 watts to my case. |

One word - "overkill" - unless you are running an evaporative cooling tower.

Yeah. That's the Velocity T1, and hmale uses one. (Look him up in the member list: he's got his own website).

its iwaki like build but i'll have to echo cathar on that pump mate. its rated 98w, i recommend the iwaki MD 15R or the MD 20Z instead of the pump in question.

I suggest you to go with the Iwaki MD-20RZ aswel.
ralf-c: Iwaki MD-15R is rated at .82A, so @ 110V AC it's 90.2W. On the other hand the MD-20RZ is rated @ 0.53A. EDIT: Correction! WMD-15R (Us motor) is rated at .82A... it turned out to be that the MD-15R (Japanese motor) is rated at 0.29A. So it's actually 31.9W @ 110V. my bad ![]() Ben I think hmale over at extrememhz.com is using Velocity T2 and T3 pumps. see here: http://www.extrememhz.com/e5ncInst2-p2.shtml Bruce
