Default Eheim 1260 Water Pump

Will the Eheim 1260 be a suitable pump for w/c system with a Danger Den RBX as the waterblock. Is it quiet. Will it give me a high enough flow rate??

I believe the RBX was designed to run on a pump like that one, so you shouldnt have a problem with it.

Seems to me that it will throw more heat into the water than the flowrate is worth, but if you already have it go for it.

That is a lot of heat. That's surprising since the smaller eheim pumps are lower than others of similar performance.

A dolphin DP-650 is rated at 50 W and 650 gph, 11 ft head (roughly the same as the eheim).

As long as you match it up to a big enough radiator with low back pressure, you should be okay. 68 Camaro 396 ci engine w/ac radiator has a 3/4 in inlet and 5/8 outlet.

Would the BIX2 be a suitable rad to go with it? I'm a bit of a n00b to this extreme watercooling stuff so you'll have to bear with me. Also, is there any advantage in using tygon hose over others?

are you going to use a waterblock on the gpu and nb also? If so, which blocks are you going to be using?

I'm not to start with, too short on cash. But at some point I'll probably get a danger den maze4 on the gpu and a danger den z-block on the nb.

I'd like to know a little more about this too, as I have a similar setup designed (differences are Maze 3 GPU - which is better? - and BIX). So far I have a 1250 on my list but have been told it may not be enough.

What about a resovoir? Is there much point to me having one? How does it actually improve performance?

Apparently they're very good for filling the system and getting rid of air. Most people recommend them. I'm gonna go for one in my first system.

Generally speaking, your best bet is an automotive heatercore, the largest you can get into the case, if possible in a single pass model. (The FedCo 2-342 is one of the ultimates if you can make it fit) Specialty 'WC rads' seem to be less effective, and are far more expensive.

Tygon is supposed to be more flexible and kink resistant than vinyl, it isn't essential, but concensus seems to be that it's worth it.

It won't directly improve your performance in all probability. It will (as mentioned) make your system easier to fill and help in purging the air from it. However the biggest advantage of a Res IMHO is that if properly setup (next to the pump intake, feeding it with a BIG hose)it will ensure that you have proper flow at the pump intake (see Phaestus' articles on the need for Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH)) This will improve your entire system's performance.

Eheim 1250 is good, but the mcp600 is better for only ten bucks more. The fittings are also easier to match, being 1/2 inch all around.

I agree with Gooserider and Meethoss on all accounts.
