33/87 team members have points for the new protein. Less than 50% of the team is folding.

Why so few?

ACTIVE members:

- They could have tried the folding program and switched to something else (I myself have 30 or so SETI units)
- Lost their password/handle and couldn't be bothered trying to find it out but made themselves a new account
- maybe they are having problems with uploading
-only do point dump every week(or fortnight)
- or just plain gave up.

I have been thinking for a while they should trim the member list down if they haven't done anything for X amount of time they turn into a "lost member total" so we still keep the points but things are a bit neater.

We're already up to 44 with points from the current protein. For people who don't run 24/7 it can take a bit of time before they are updated and start producing.

As for me, I usually wait 12 to 24 hours before updating. No sense battling for bandwidth in the rush to download the update. And, I get to see if people are having any problems with a new client.

I ran a lil test, seems tonight we are all set for in the range of 2.5 to 3 Mil folds an hour from my almost 270 machines

Sweet! With that kind of power we should be able to stay pretty freakin' close to the Power Cockroaches. And when the monthlong stampede is over...

Anybody else notice that Ars has doubled their number of active folders in the last four days?

It would seem that the Power Cows "stampede" is becoming just that. All of the top 6 teams have increased output by a good to large amount.

Mine seems almost identical. In fact didn't Jaydee say that it WAS the same protein just a different run of tests or something?

Though my output does vary by 150k/day due to what I am using the computer for.

Not so. This is the same protein run during phase 1. This one is 105 as to were the last was 108 so there is little difference size wise.

the hammers slowly being dropped. as all the machines get the new protien and get up to speed, I expect a ~ 2.8 Mil top end at this point

make a 300 off that and maybe the cows are going to shake

it's like the times in the wild wild west. a stampede stops when the cows are tired and that is never going 2 happens

Yeh the cows will move onto other things. its a one month stampede, we will have the same power in 2 months that we have today, probably more. so we will overtake the cows in due time

Edit: Also come end of summer, I may have nearly 400 2.6+Ghz P4's I can add on. I think that along with the 400 machines I will have running at that point would make the cows run like lil girls when one dude can out fold all of them

I have to find a way to kick it up a notch so I can beat lovemy65. He stays just out of my reach somehow. Maybe time to build another PC

I have been patiently waiting for the kick in the head as you pass me. From the looks of it your will blowing past me momentarily.

I dunno I haven't been making too much ground up lately. Eventually I shall overcome though; rest assured of that

Also, what is it like to work on fast machines that other ppl own? I always get called by friends/relatives/friends of friends relatives/etc. who wonder why their computer runs Win95/Win3.11 so slowly.
(honest, I just replaced a distant relative's 486DX100/8MB/VLB with a 686MX233/32MB/Millenium2 4MB that I was keeping for nostalgia...)

Rule of thumb don't put the client on amnything less than a 1gig CPU or a computer with less than desirable RAM. (128Mb on a NT based system for example)

Otherwise I would have put it on my sister's 333mhz/64MB computer, or her laptop (133mhz/32MB)
