I've heard people mention Araldite having problems with water. I use a two-part metal epoxy usually and it holds fine though. Something to make sure with acrylic is you roughen the surfaces to be jointed up with sandpaper as the normal slick surface won't adhere well at all.

Second... you really need to use safety equipment. Shoes, preferrably heavy work boots are in that catagory, along with safety goggles and gloves.

Third, what kind of blade are you using to try and cut aluminum with? It should be a blade designed for cutting metal NOT wood or plastic. Usually these are for cutting metal and concrete and are an abrasive cutter. (No teeth)

Also, here are my reservior construction pictures. It's made of 1/8th inch acrylic and acrylic tubes. Hope they help you...
What's the pump you are using? I haven't seen it before...

i just thought i should mention that today while making my res/rad holder/box thing i cut my foot badly.. now it hurts and is bleeding i got Itchy ass scratches all over my forearms and biceps from cutting alumni sheet with drop/circular/table saws, there is silicone all over my shirt and my foot is really bleeding bdly word to the wise... put shoes and long sleeves on
Sorry to hear about the injuries, hope they heal well. I would repeat the note about safety gear, only add that IMNSHO the two most essential items are safety glasses and hearing protection. Skin grows back (usually) but eyeballs and hearing don't. You only get two eyes from the factory, and so far nobody's come up with good working spares. Likewise, hearing loss is gradual, cumulative, and irreversible...

I agree that safety glasses are a pain, I don't know why they can't be made more comfortable the way prescription glasses are. If you do wear glasses, like I do, the most painless safety glass technique (though not the most effective) is to get frames with BIG lenses, and have them fitted with polycarbonate lenses. This turns your normal glasses into fairly effective safety glasses. This is what I use most of the time, I only get out the face shield when I'm working on stuff I expect to throw lots of chips like the saw or an angle grinder.

They make (I own one)circular saw blades with carbide teeth that are specifically designed for cutting NON-FERROUS (not steel) metals. At first glance they look like a normal wood blade, but the teeth are angled a bit differently and I believe they use a different type of carbide material. They aren't that hard to find, I got mine at the local True-Value hardware store, for about the same price as a medium grade carbide wood blade. Mine is an Oldham brand, I'm sure there are others. It works great in either a circular saw or a table saw, although they caution you about the risks of shorting out the motor

dont take the injuries as being bad i get them all the time

onto new news (geddit?) i bought silicone tubing for 25 aus 3 metres with stainless steel spring in it
what im thinking is, that spring is absurdley restrictive.. so im just gonna take it out and hope the tubing wont collapse on itself

I'm using Vinyl tubing so I dunno... I just make sure the tubing is the same size as the Acrylic tube ends on the reservior. To get the Vinyl over the Acrylic, just run the first inch or so of Vinyl tube under hot water for about two minutes. This softens it up and allows it to stretch over the Acrylic tube MUCH better. Also, I tapered the tip of the Acrylic tubes to allow it to slip on easy.

Hope that helps.

If it's a pressure line (on the pump output side) collapsing won't be a problem. More of an issue is whether or not you are likely to get a kink in it, but that can be avoided by careful routing. I have seen some folks avoid kinks by putting the spring on the OUTSIDE of the tube to give it some support.

Even if the line is a suction line, (typically either the last block or res -> pump) it's unlikely to be a collapse problem unless the hose is really flexible, our pumps generally don't pull enough pressure, especially if you paid attention to Phaestus' article on getting net positive suction head, and designed your setup accordingly.
