Default Move hard drives from 2200 to 1000?

I've tried searching the forum, wiki, and FAQs, but haven't found an answer (though I could have missed it).
We have a 2200 that is having some major power management issues, but currently have it running with an industrial universal power supply. Although something else seems to be the real issue (still powered off last night), we're able to currently access it and backup everything again.

That aside, we have an older 1000 that's just sitting idly and I was wondering if we'd be able to swap the raid0 drives from the 2200 into the 1000 if things took a turn for the worse?

Thank you

David, (blue68f100)

I thought about this one, and I am not sure one way or the other. BUT, I am guessing that depending on which revision Snap 1000 they have, this just might work. I am guessing that if he has the same revsion 1000 that is the same basic unit as the 1100, which in effect is very similar to a 2200, he might just be lucky. You are the expert on those, what do you think?

tismon,

Another solution might be to purchase a used 2200 on eBay and swap your drives in. I have seen Snap 2200 on eBay often go for dirt cheap next to nothing.

2200 has OS on the HD as well as the 1100's. If your going to do this you will break the RAID1 array, but don't do this in the 2200. You want to have a mirror (backup) incase something goes wrong. What Phoenix said is true. A late model 1000v2 could read the 2200 w/o any issues. Except with the raid 1 issue, you may need to do a debug cmd to force it back to JOBD after it comes up. You will need to make sure the 1000 has the same OS version as your 2200, too. If not it may not be able to see your data. The 1000's have a slower processor than the 2200's.

Once up I would reinstall the OS to make sure all the pointers have been corrected for a different paltformbye.

Well, thankfully it never came to that as we were able to get everything off and double-check with pure-sync.

Thanks for the replies and keep up the great work.
