Post pictures of your reservoirs
IT would be neat and interesting to see pictures of everyones reservoirs that they have made.

Here you go, my Revision 2 tube reservoir. Ill post the protos eventually.
This was made from 1 1/4 inch tube, dangerden hi-flow 3/8 barbs, and the cap on top is from my 4 port BayRes. The wierd color is from messing around with food coloring. What looks like cracks to the right is actually some cat hair (?) I didnt notice. And there is a very small leak from the right barb, these were just temporarily sealed with plumbers tape but will be siliconed in when I finalize it. Overall this one works pretty good. I had to chop the barb on the CSP-Mag and the DD one to make it fit this way, basically i will have the twin mags with thier own res tubes (this being 1 of 2) that will protrude from the top of my case (project Echelon in the mods section). Ill document the making of the second tube. |

2" od 1 3/4" id acrylic tube about 1' long
3/4" barb to pump 1/2" barb for inlet 3/4" fill port on top divider for speeding bleeding all joints chemically bonded using methylene chloride based glue i have 2' of acrylic tube left if anyone wants a copy... |

A 120 and 180 reservoir.
Both acrylic tube 50×5mm and G1/4 threads for barbs.

3" diameter clear PVC with nylon barbs gooped in, and a filler cap cut off the top of a 2 liter soda bottle.

1st off,the funky color in the res was caused by too much zerex in the water.res is an acrylic 14" spagetti container of all things.works like a charm

I have made one out of a project box from radioshack, a maple syrup bottle bottom(round) and cd spindle bottom(my first res). I have tried 2 types of bay reservoirs, overall I dont like them. They are a pain in the butt to fill and even more pain in the butt to remove, you cant do it full so you have to empty everything without spilling all over(if you leave hardware in the case). The acrylic ones are just flat out scarry, i wont ever use that one for more than messin with stuff, I have a coolingworks reservior which is really nice but I still am not in favor of bay reserviors because of reasons stated above.
What I did is put my coolingworks bayrez directly under my soundcard toward the back and connected the pump directly to its output. I have tried t lines and those have been good, messy, in the way, or didnt work. Worked good in the 1/2" lines, messy and big in 1/2" lines, doesnt really work well with smaller ones, bubbles block water from entering. one of these days I will make a solid copper one or maybe a billet brass one, I have some copper tubing 2" in diameter just needs some soldering. brass would be sweet. Sorry, but I cant post any pics, since I didn´t take any pics of my res before it busted.
It was just a 32 mm PVC tube with homemade end caps. The res worked beautifully as a manifold to gather up parallell water loops but didn´t work at all as an air trap. The top endcap cracked after a couple of months (I guess epoxy glue isn´t the best for acryllic). Thankfully it wasn´t the identical bottom endcap that cracked. I thought of taking a picture of my crack and post, but I thought You didn´t want to see it ;-) regards Mikael S.

update 06-08
a little update, I made up my second tube which I did take pics for a future guide. Orange will be the final color. And there is some leakage, the barbs will be siliconed in soon, I was just using some plumbers tape temporarily. Both of these will be lit with orange LEDs as well

got a question what are u guys using to cap the ends? and what kind of adhesive are u guys using to cap the ends/barbs.

Its called an "acrylic solvent", what it does is actually melts the acrylic and literally fuses the two peices togeather. I got mine at www.tapplastics.com.
The barbs I just used plumbers tape temporarily, but am planning to use silicon in the end. |

its so big it IS a reservoir, but okay it is a radiator
not connected at the moment, just moved to a new house. She's from an air conditioning system, paid 50 bucks for it at the scrap metal merchants. I'll put it under the house again soon and get the system all working again This pic is old, before I ever used it. Runs with two 500cfm fans, okay, its HUGE, look at the ear muffs, but its going to cool 3 pc's and a HIFI (2 class a amps) I cannot find any data from Kirby refridgeration, who made it, but I guess with my air flow I can move 4-6kw of heat. water flow in 1" hose is about 60lpm for the whole loop. About to build my own flow sensors, ones I've found are either low flow, low diameter or HIGH price. Parts: 1x 1liter bottle - rapidelectonics 2x 3/8" BSPT->14mm OD Barbs - airlines 2x 3/8" BSPT nut - airlines 4x 3/8" BSP washers - airlines 150mm² of 0.8mm alu sheet for the mount 4x pop rivits So total cost only a few quid. The bottle was 72p iirc. I havent drilled the mounting holes yet as I need to take my old res out to line it up with the old holes on the mobo tray. The extra alu that look a bit wrong on the bottom is there to help support it. As im only using 0.8mm thick sheet.. I thought it would definatly need it.
