Hello everyone, I’ve finally decided to make the plunge (pun intended) into water cooling.
My current system is a P4 3.4 @ 3.9 (1.65v) running on an Abit IC7-MAX3. Trying to keep it cool with a Thermalright SLK800-U with a 80mm Vantec Tornado Fan. Idle temps are 48 and full load is 64. A little hot for my liking, plus the noise is driving me nuts! So I ordered a Swiftech H20-22600-P kit, and a Swiftech MCW50 VGA Water block. I know most of you all don’t like “KITS” but I thought this would be the easiest way for me to jump into water cooling. I ordered it through my local shop, been like 3 weeks I’ve been waiting for it. The store told me Swiftech was having difficulties shipping these kits for some reason? Anyone having problems ordering parts from Swiftech? In my wait for it to arrive I’ve decided to drop the Swiftech Rad676 Radiator that comes with the kit and I picked up a 1986 Chevy Chevette heater core. I’ve made an aluminium shroud for it and have that now mounted in the front of my case. I’m thinking of setting it up this way… Pump to CPU block to VGA block to Fill and bleed kit assembly to Heatercore and back to pump. Is this the best way to keep the CPU the coolest? I’m hoping to get a bit more speed out of the CPU as well. Anyone running a Swiftech H20-22600-P kit? What are your temps? Final question, where can I pick up distilled water? Home Depo??? Thanks Last edited by Icedog; 07-18-2004 at 02:35 PM. |

Any gas station or grocery store will have distilled water. As for swiftech, I think Bill might be able to answer that for you but I'd guess that the MCW6000's are backed up.

Since you've already got the radiator you just as well build to whole thing. 3 weeks? You could have built one in the time it's taking him to get you one.

Ya if I knew it would of taking this long to get it, I would have built one.
But this give me more time to read up and get what I need without rushing. I've learned alot this past few weeks by reading these forums. So hopefully it'll go alot smoother for my first water cooling install. |

Forums area great way to learn this kind of stuff. You get to learn about other's mistakes so you won't make them yourself.
