Default DDC-12V pump not working

I recently bought a DDC-12V pump, but it's not working right. I have to give it a little tap to get it to start - it never starts on its own. I have an Enermax 550w psu so I don't think too little power is the issue.

Ideas anyone?

- Lars

Have you tried a different molex connector? Sometimes they act funny.

I've tried many different ones, same stuff. Also, when I put my ear close to the pump I can hear a low humming kind of sound, but obviously it's not working as it should.

It was bought from dangerden, and as I live in Norway I was looking for a "quick fix" but I guess it must be returned after all. Thanks for replying.

Some german vendors noticed the same problem and stopped selling the ddc.
They were told by Laing that a faulty component was causing this problem and they will sell the fixed version in about a week.

Do the ones being sold in North America have this problem?

an answer is suspected, but awaits confirmation - early next week
it can be said that this is known, and not cause for concern
(all units are traceable by serial #)

yea, yea, go ahead
but you will see, as before, that problems are identified candidly and addressed immediatly

Oh is there a 10char minimum? I have a Ph.D and so the likelihood of my saying anything in less than 1000 characters is pretty slim. I don't think I've ever noticed

the problem was in the programming of a logic chip
none of the affected pumps have been sold in the US

leshie
you might check with your local supplier, perhaps they sourced the pump in Europe ?
