Default Another which pump tread

i've been thinking about buying a new pump. i sold my Swiftech 650, i still have my Eheim 1250, but i want to get rid of it b/c it's A/C powered. i want a pump that can have adjustable barbs. the 650 was stuck at 1/2" and i didn't like that. and i love quick connects now. i don't like reducers. so now i have 3 options. the new MAG, the AquaXtreme 50Z-DC12-T, and the DDC. the DDC is the only one w/o adjustable barbs, but i want the AlphaCool top. right now i REALLY want the AquaXtreme b/c it's got more power, the MAG comes up second purely b/c of price, and the 3rd is the DDC only b/c it's about as expensive as the AquaXtreme and i have to buy another top. any suggestions? i have a Swiftech 6000 block, a BIP II, and i want to add a chipset and GPU block as well.

Well I can offer some advice when it comes to the MAG, they are in short supply right now, due to high demand.

I suggest if you want our unit, talk to a dealer first and make sure they have stock.

Your looking at 3-6 weeks from our site

Sorry, C-Systems is expanding yet again.
Wish I could say why, but we are awaiting the annoucement from one of our OEM partners.

i JUST put in an order for 2 MAG's, i hope they come in! i was going to get the AquaExtreme, but 1 of those costs $81 plus shipping, 2 of these would cost $99.99 - 10%. so i got 2 of these instead.

I already got mine

Having said that I think they are a good choice. They push a lot of water fine through a BIX, TDX and a Maze4 GPU, and they are inaudable outside of about 1 foot (30cm). Ability to run them in series or paralell makes them very versital as well. Like my own system I have in the works, it can be easily configured for a dual loop or a single loop.

thanks for the info Dave, hopefully i'll get them. but it seems like a lot of watercooling kits are going on sale these days. is watercooling getting that cheap? DangerDen is selling a combo that has the new D5 and their TDX for $108. Tong just listed a Swiftech kit w/o the block for $99, that has a MCP600, BIM, Fill&Bleed, tubing, 80mm fan, and quick connects, and DTek is having 10% off $100 and 15% off $200.

You keep the warranty, there's no sticky. Only 4 screws to unscrew, you don't need to open the pump head to turn the outlet @ 90° like you want...

um...i'm going to continue this in Cyprio's thread. by the way. DTek must be out of MAG's!!! they took my order, but won't answer the phone when i called them. it's on "Pre-ORDER"! this sucks! i really wanted my MAG, if i knew it was out of stock i would have gladly ordered from FluidXP or DangerDen or directly from C-Systems.

^ Are they?
Maybe DD is your best choose right now, I seen several trays of drives with DD logo's on them yesterday.

Wish I could say "who" is taking up all our production, and "why", but that will be telling

Dave- now that there are quite a handful of people reselling the C-systems pumps, is there any difference between all the pumps? i understand that FluidXP's MAG's are going to be designed for their liquid but what about DTek and DangerDen. also DTek notest that their MAG's come w/ Sealed (O-ring) barbs and DD doesn't quite state that. are there some tops that need the O-ring and some that don't? or is it added insurance? i'm just wondering why there would be a reason to pick one over the other or if their isn't one. they are all priced the same, except for the Fluid XP MAG's.

XP is only different model currently available, DD and D-Tek both use an O-Ring type fitting.

The DD pumps impeller was designed around the TDX series CPU blocks by Dan himself, however it worked so well, we adapted it as our standard impeller.

I still do not fully understand why Dan's impellers are often more efficent then my typical designs, comes down to experience I guess.

It is always best to order from dealers, as we only have the direct sale offer to support our upgrade program, for a limited time.

-Just checked, D-Tek has no orders on production sheets, so I would guess they will not have stock for an extended time.

Can these pumps be used in a variety of orientations?

For instance (and assuming the"top" of the pump is where the fittings are located), if I wanted to lay the pump on it's side, would the pump still work okay?

^ Magnetic suspension, doesn't matter what position you wish to use.

Although you will want to get all the air out first, just for noise concerns.

Dave, just received an email from DTek stating:
Hi XXXXXXX,

This was not supposed to be a pre-order item. Due to the massive delays at the manufacturers we will be getting our original stock on the 10th. We have received only 20 pumps from our original order in April. We expected the rest within 2 days and that has been over a month now. I have tracking numbers now and they will be here Tomorrow and start shipping.

Thanks,
XXXXXXXXXX
www.dtekcustoms.com

so i hope it ships, if not, i'm going to cancel my order and order direct. does C-systems have 2 instock for me?

^ I will pass this statement on to management, I personally know D-TEK's last order shipped out two weeks ago, because I signed the UPS pickup slip.

** I justed checked UPS tracking, looks like there order was sitting in US customs for over a week, and still has yet to arrive

What would be a equvialent replacement of Eheim compact pump powerhead 300?

Eheim Compact 300:

* Pump Output: 80 gph
* Max Head: 1.6 ft
* Dimensions: 2.0" x 1.4" x 2.2"

* 3-year manufacturer`s warranty

I was thinking of Swift, but their tubing ID isn't the same.

Eheim is made in Germany, apparently, it should be good, but there is noise made by the pump after a few mth. of usage. But it has to be silent, or near silent. Any take?

I wouldn't think that Eheim Compact 300 pump is suited for PC watercooling... The usual pumps run 300-400 gph and head of 10-13 ft. If you want a small external pump, go with a MAG.

Rumor has it that Dtek is an OEM from C system, in which C-sys. is a "undesirable" brand name. But the dimension certainly fits.

W/ Eheim powerhead 300, the magnet which holds the propeller in is not storng enough and the propellor is touching the plastic casing at the front and rattline, thus the noise.

C-Systems OEM customers choose to be so for several reasons, the most common being price.

Insurance costs are very high in this industry right now, and C-Systems must pass said cost to there customers. Often an OEM will cover warranty / support themselves, allowing C-Systems to drop insurance cost, and give the OEM a better price.

There is also the issue of marketing, along side the OEM's other products.

Manufacturing is another concern, as AVT grants license to allow OEM's to produce the pumps, such as C-Systems is doing. This is done again for cost, often related to shipping or assembly.

About 80-90% of C-Systems customers are OEM, and I understand management wants it this way for now.

In North America, Danger Den, D-Tek, and Fluild XP are retail OEM customers.
We have many additional OEM customers which have not openly stated so, most being industrial.

well DTek said they have got there shipment in and all orders are shipping now. i ordered on the 3rd, and it won't get here till the 16th. no one informed me that it was out of stock, there was no message stating that there would be a waiting period till they received their shipment. i won't be ordering from them again. but if anything happens w/ my pump (knock on wood) i'll will be on constant contact. i just hope i get my pumps soon. the least they could have done was upgrade the shipping to priority mail, but i'm asking too much.

Dave, I don't have any problem w/ OEM industries in general, I know a lot of computer products are OEM. I'm questioning the quality of C system's OEM on this size pump.

There ought to be another alternative than this brand?

On their web site, they even said:

http://www.c-systems.ca/

"Leading Warranty:
The CSP-MAG features the longest limited warranty in the industry at 30 months,
ensuring value for your money."

Hey, Eheim is 3 Yr., i.e., 36 mth., and look what happen to the powerhead 300, they only last a few mth., it's not the money, I just need a reliable product who is quiet and works and can replace the size of the Eheim 300.

what country made the MAG anyway? Anyone?
