Get em while theyre hot
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/home.php?cat=13 Although these are now super cheap, there is mention of a single pass versions of the normal black ice radiators from HW Labs called the X-Flow series if you want to keep saving your pennies ![]() Last edited by Breach; 06-21-2005 at 06:30 PM. |

Even at those prices I don't think I'd buy another BIX III. I've had two so far; I wasn't really impressed with the build quality of the first one and the second was a serious dissapointment since the entire rad was warped about 1/4" so it couldn't mount flush to the case (I "fixed" that with a foam rubber gasket, but it still should have been "flat"). The Thermochill 120.3 I've got waiting for a case is much better quality, but since it's a revision 3 model it doesn't have the cross-pieces to seal the area between the fans. So, untill the 40mm shrouds make it to the States or I break down and pay shipping from the UK, using it would also require making some kind of gasket to seal the fans to it. Life was sooo much easier with air cooling

Is WCooling in need right now of manufacturers producing and marketing imitations of the HWLabs radiators, at a cheaper price, or to come out with something new, performant and at a reasonable price?
If the HWLabs, had certain limitations (that BillA) already pointed out, what's the use of making new ones with the same limitations, e.g. the connections placement, and the fact that the second row has only around ~20% efficiency, compared to the first row. If it's price you want get a heatercore. |

Depends, if you have the space a heater core is great, but for people like me with a cramped case the BIX is a pretty nice alternative. Ive liked mine so far, although I think the fan mounting holes need some revision, It was a little scary trying to get threaded rods through my then $90 chrome one.

I did write to Over-Clock.co.uk yesterday morning asking for an estimate on what it would cost to ship 2 40mm shrouds and 4 neoprene gaskets to New York, but I haven't heard back yet (I forgot to ask about a spare washer or two). I may just place an order and live with the shipping.... |

I'd like to see an inexpensive 8cm rad. One that is single pass, low depth, low fin count. If you could sell them for $20 apiece (unrealistic) you could retrofit a lot of cases very easily. You'd probably need at least two of them per case. It would bring watercooling closer to mainstream. I know it was a PITA for me to mod my 6070 to accept a BIP at the front. For most, such an experience often results in giving up on watercooling all together.

If funds allow order 3 or 4 sets (2xshrouds, 2xgaskets) and sell them on, save yourself some on the shipping. From what I have read there are a fair few people who want them over there. Cheers, Sam C |
