Ok So I have decided on the following components after much discussion in my other thread in this section:
Everything will be 1/2" tubing. Rads: 120.2 and a PA160 CPU: Storm GPU: Danger Den SLI Pump: MCP655 Fans: TBD Tubing: Clearflex or Tygon Layout will be as below, with no possible way of moving things around. So please do not suggest that i move rads to other places. Some concerns of mine: 1) Will the pump have enough power to run this loop? 2) Will it matter what order I place the components in or is the shortest route the best bet? 3) Would it makes sense to try to route the PA160 between the CPU and GPU even though it may increase the length of the run? 4) Will intake from the PA160 have any effect on overal system temps and possibly hurt performance since the 120.2 is pulling air out of the system? |

Pump -> GPU2 -> GPU1 -> Dual Rad -> CPU -> Single Rad -> Pump is an option.
This path would help keep the two GPU's nice and cool by getting "fresh" cool air coming into the case. Then, that heat is dumped by a "dual rad" to cool the CPU. Question: Are you using a reservoir in this cooling loop? Or, is the reservoir built into the "dual rad" since it's located in the highest place like a Koolance setup? Your layout will work, however, any air in the system would find it's way to the "dual rad." Having a fill port or even better, a reservoir box, located off of the rear "dual rad" would help greatly to remove trapped air. Just a thought. ![]() Stev |

Hmm...I never consideret this as an option but it might work. My only concern would be the hard bend necessary to reach the GPU. Not sure that I want to restrict the flow like that immediately coming out of the pump. As far as a RES, no I am not using one. But I do have a fillport that is serving this function quite nicely. |

Then the next question is, can you jump from the Pump -> GPU1 -> GPU2 -> ...
Basically switch the GPU order to route the tubing. Have the fill port at the highest point to burp out the air. ![]() |

But would it make sense to go "up" to GPU1 and back down to GPU 2 only to go back up to the dual Rad. **On another note, I think it far more important for the CPU to get the "coolest" water possible since that is the bottleneck in the system and will receive the heaviest overclock. |

Not knowing your CPU type nor the GPU's, I took a stab at it.
![]() If the CPU will run hotter than the two GPU's combined, then a routing of the Pump -> CPU -> Single Rad -> GPU -> GPU -> Dual Rad -> CPU would be an option. I agree with Bill by allowing the PA160 pull the air upward an out of the computer case. The old saying in thermal dynamics is, hot air rises to the top. So, naturally, let it out of the top. ![]() As for the single rad location, the fan between it and the lower front case should pull air "in". Yeah i am planning on pulling into the case from the PA160 and of course out of the upper dual rad.
The Storm only has two inlets so I dunno how your exact routing method would work though. |
