Default Adding Static Routes

Has anyone looked into adding static TCP/IP routes into the snap OS?
Perhaps from the debug screen?

I am running a 1100 with os 3.4.8.

I'm not sure I understand why you'd need to do this. Assuming you have the default gateway set appropriately in the Snap configuration then the router at that address should return an ICMP redirect packet if the required route is elsewhere. This should be actioned by the Snap protocol stack, and all future packets will follow the redirected route.

I admit I don't know for sure that SnapOS implements Redirect, but I have never seen a TCP/IP protocol stack that doesn't. Of course, your router may not return the Redirect instruction, but again, I've never seen one that doesn't.

Can you post a bit more info on what you want to do and why? I may be able to go further.

This is for a small subnet used for DR puposes and for security reasons, can't be added immediately. Until a larger project is completed, this has to be done manually at each machine which isn't a problem since it is only a dozen but would like to be able to mount the snap drive as I move through the sites.

Hmmm - The debug commands offer no TCP/IP commands at all, as far as I can see, and with Adaptec's policy on support I doubt you'd get far there.

I don't really understand your comments about your network. In every network I have ever built I separate the network transportation functions from server functions. 'Let the routers route' has always been the approach. This allows simple configuration on each server, workstation, NAS box, etc. and confines the routing complexities to the routers. There's some subtlety here I've missed.

Any chance you can post a topology diagram so we can see what you need?
