Looking for some help with two SnapServer 520 which have just been upgraded to the latest Guardian OS v5.1.041.
The machine are joined to a 2K3 R2 Domain and seem to be working fine until we try to add permissiosn (ACL) from Vista SP1 or 2K3 R2 SP1 machines, we get the following errors. "The program cannot open the required dialog box because it cannot determine whether the computer named "SERVER-NAME" is joined to a domain. Close this message , and try again." "Unable to display the user selected dialog. This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." (Seems to be working from XP and 2k3 pre SP1 machines) Also I've noticed problems with connecting to the \\SERVER-NAME but the \\IPADDRESS works ok (still same permissions error with either connect) I'm guessing these problems are related. I've been working with Overland support but I really don't think they know whats happening. Any thoughts, this seems to be one of the few places where I've found with good knowledge of the Snapservers. Thanks Chris. Last edited by chrisgu; 03-24-2009 at 04:04 AM. |

To answer my own question.
I've just been told by Overland support that the problems related to Windows 2003 64bit version and Vista SP1 and incompatibilities with the version of Samba there using. They've also told me that the problem is being worked on along with the Win 2008 server issue and won't be release for at least another 3 months. Chris |
