Default Cooling the water

This is my first post, but not really a new question I bet. I've got a watercooling system running on my AMD 1.1G (currently OC'd to 1.260 12x100 with 105/44 FSB). Temperature's are: CPU - 39C, System - 22C

The water is distilled with water wetter added (no antifreeze at this time). I'm using a 11x5 radiator from Swiftech with their MCW462. I also have a 172W Peltier from TEDIST (Drift 0.8) currently on a 12V/15A PSU (will be installing a 24V/12A later today).

With that, I dont think the temps are bad, or are they? My main question is how do I cool the water more? I want it below ambient. Refridgeration won't work since the rate at which they remove heat is slower than the rate that the water receives the heat. Freezers, maybe, I dunno, haven't tested that. Something like an external TEC water chiller might work, but I've not seen any readily available.

Any ideas or suggestions? I want to get this bad boy colder...

You gotta keep in mind that no matter what you use to cool, its gonna use air cooling. Chillers cool the water with the air, so do freezers. If one thing gets cold, something else will be getting hot. You cant have cold without a respective hot. All these things we use are technically heat pumps. some pump more heat faster than others but in the long run the air is absorbing the heat, so the most important part of a cooling system is the air interface.

In the end Air does it all, so you might use that. Have you tried two radiators? Or you could try looping water after the radiator back to the resivor.

I run my radiator system in a freezer. The water resivor, and the radiator. I used a 3.5" deep X 1.5' wide tupperware container. The point. . . Because it's shallow and the water has a better chance of transfering heat to the air, because more of the water is exposed to the air than say a deeper resivor. The Fan & Radiator in the freezer or fridge/ do the physics of it all. Depending on the temp's inside the fridge, running your radiator between the pump and the Water block might heat the water rather than cool it. . . Yes even with wind-chill factor. You might try to but the Radiator after the Waterblock in the fridge. You can also stack pelts. You need a lot of juice to run two pelts. Especially since most run best with 24v's to them. Try running 2 pelts. And if all fails, buy an Intel, if you want to run cooler, heh heh, Just kidding!!!

Good Luck

A chiller would cool it down more. overclock-watercool.com has a TEC chiller available.

i was running chilled alcohol for a while -- pain in the ass though. If the system was idle overnight, the alcohol would get down to about -20f, but it would climb back up to 0-15f or so after an hour or 2 of playing...

I think alcohol has it's merits; it exchanges heat very rapidly, but I'm not sure the results justify the effort.
