Default This forum ROCKS!

Man,

I have spent almost three weeks looking through the hardocp forum to get answers to my new watercooling setup with no real good data. I spent one hour here last night and you guys answered all of my questions. Seems like here when someone replies it's to help the person not to increase their ranking and say nothing.

Thanks you guys! I now am ready to start to put my rig together! I wouldn't have been able to do it "correctly" without this forum.

Haha right on man! Yeah we definitely do not have the volume of posters that a place like HOCP does, but we do generally have much more educated and much more friendly group of people here. Welcome aboard!

Sadly that seems to be the state of [H] recently. Seriously it hasn't always been that way, but recently it has really gone downhill. I am very glad you found answers here and I hope we can be of help in the future. Welcome

I totally agree with RickCain.

I also came from [H] to the Pro. I don't regret it.

You guys are great, and the best news is that the team is expanding (congrats!).

Thanks for this site and forum.

Well there are a lot of the same people here but since the forums are more focused and the maturity level is a bit higher it works out better. I don't think online BBSes are sustainable when they get too large. You lose the community feel which made you feel like contributing to them in the first place. Moderation also has to get tighter. and bandwidth becomes a huge concern.

Sadly, it seems like every other post at [H] is loaded with attitude, or is from people asking the same questions over and over and over and over...I used to try to answer questions over there, but found myself more and more frustrated with people asking without any preliminary research.

I'm glad to see some familiar 'faces' here that I enjoyed communicating with before.

I glad you guys like it here.

I will be doing the same thing here as I have in the Pro/Chat. I will ban and remove people who lower the overall quality of the forums/chat.

we try to keep a high Signal to Noise ratio on the site and in the forums. ( keep less pointless kiddie crap from filling the site in otherwords)

I'm also another [H] convert. I still visit that "other" forum every now and then, but I find that the information here tends to be much more useful.

To me, procooling seems to be more of a "perosnal" site, while the hardforums give me the feeling of being in a stadium full of people trying to ask a question to someone on the other side of the building. Maybe this comes from procooling being a sort of specialty site compared to an all-in-one-depot?

just click Pro/Chat from the main procooling page. There's a java client and all the server info for mirc.

the more you post, the more ranks you go up, Hot Stank is the lowest level.

And if you mod the forums, write for the site, and are just the darn coolest guy from SoCal, you can be "Cooler than your mom"
