Brad...

I just whipped tis up this morning. I had to make it 2" x 2.5625" instead of metric because that is what my mill software is setup for. Should be just about the same though. What I need to do now is make the tool path and creat the code.

I will keep you posted in this thread. I probably will not get to milling it untill I get my new parts. Note the channels are 3/8" wide and I may order some 3/4" thick stock and make it 1/2" deep channel. I don't think I can do a 1/2" wide channels as 1/16" channel walls are just to thin for my mill to handle. The backlash would probably bust through in the corners.

Alright I got it pretty well lined out. here is a pic of the test pass on a 2"X3" peice of stock.

Got some minor adjustments but that will be it. Out of time today though so I will iron out the minor adjustment later and try to have the final code made up by the time I get my parts in.

Also notice how smooth the bottom of the pass is!!! Got my vibration fixed!!!

hey, it looks really sweet. Now what would be most interesting is if you do a single inlet single outlet design, where the water goes in at the top right and out at the top left, then you change it to the centre inlet dual outlet setup

thanks so much

Yeah that is a good idea. When I have time to mill it I will just make two tops one with single in/out and one with singe in/duel out. I think I will leave it on the 2" X 3" block for the ones I test. I might be able to squeeze in the monting holes. If not I will make a clip of somekind.

well, I'd say yes at first, but we don't know how much silver it actually is.

anyway, do you have a rough eta on when we'll get performance figures of my block design? like within a week or so?

I don't have the 3/4" thick material for the block and I am sending my Bit holder to Fixitt tomorrow which will disable my mill untill I get a new one. I will order the holder and the material tomorrow but I have no idea when the new holder will get here. I have to order that from the Mill manufacturer and am not sure how long they take to get things out the door. Earliest would be next Sunday, but I am thinking the following weekend. I don't have time to run the mill after work being I am only allowed to use it before 8pm because of noise (it runs in my Apt.). By the time I get off work and settle in it is already 8pm.

Hehehe, yeah well. The first complain we get a warning. The second complaint we get a $25 fine and the 3rd complaint is the old boot!!! I am working on trying to get power out to my tiny garage. All it has is a light fixture in it. Thinking about getting one of those screw in adapters that turn the light into a power plug. problem is though if I pop the breaker I have no way to reset it as the maintenance man has the key to the breaker box!!! I would need to run the mill, computer (lap top), and the CNC control box off that light fixture and I am not sure it will work.

No way of running a wire out from the apartment itself?

No it is 200ft down and across the road. To much traffic to run it across the road.

Not for very long. it has about 2hrs of mild use and the mill software takes a lot of power. I could probably make 1 block if I am lucky on a charge.

Jay, ever think of a small gas generator, and a good quality battery backup?

That would be all U need for the power requirments, and U can take it anywhere. The batt. back up would be a conditioner for the lines.

Hell I have a powr inverter in my truck that can run a laptop and my mill (I think it will anyways) But the truck has to be running the whole time

They wouldn't let me run a generator. The garages are right next to apartments. 8pm is the quite time here so any access noise past that is a no no. Not to mention there is no place to set the generator. Can't have it in the road. here is a pic from my bedroom window to give you an example. See the last garage on the left? Mine is about 200ft farther to the left!!! I might be able to get away with the light socket. But running a laptop, mill, and CNC controller may push it although I am runnign the controller and mill off of one socket in the apartment. I may give it a shot later when I have time.

Fixittt I got the holder off today but I don't think it will work on your mill. I will send you a few pics of it and the size of the threads. But by looking at the pic of the NC15 I think this holder won't work.

Fixittt: here are the deminsions of my holder. Looks like a 3/4" inside thread. 1" over all width. I thought he NC15 had a 7/8" or a 1" thread on it. But let me know if you think this will work and I will send it to you.
