Default cant unlock the 2100+ with brown packaging

I ordered a 2100+ from newegg... i thought all 2100+ were supposed to be green, but mine is brown.

i have tried many times to unlock it and change the multiplier with my 8k3a+, but it just results in no post. ONE time i managed a 14x multiplier (instead of default 13) but this was playing around with an LCD connector, and i set the multiplier LOWER than 13....

anyway i measure EVERY contact and EVERY trace with an Ohm meter. The resistance between the bottom L1 contacts and ground is 350 ohms.. the resistance between each bottom contact is 650ohms the top contacts had no connection at all.

after connecting the bottom contacts with the top contacts.. the top contacts then also had the 350 ohm to ground and 650ohm between them. I tested EVERY contact and there is NO short to ground, and NO short between them... i have redone it about 10 times.. and each time tested out good, but i still cant change the multiplier.

super glue was used to fill the gap, then rear window defrost repair kit to connect. then GOOP over the top to preserve the traces.

oh and when i refer to the bottom contact.. it is the row with the triangle.

anybody know whats up? the cuts were pretty small as you can see in the L3 and L4 bridges... dunno if that has anything to do with it.

looks like there needs to be alot of modification to underclock the 2100+ (so you can raise the fsb alot)

basically turn it into a 1600+

you're unlocking it just fine, in the 13x - 20.5x range. if you want to access multipliers lower than 13, change the L10 bridge over. Your cpu will default at 5.5x now, but you will get 5.5 - 12.5

when he sets it to 12.5 it is trying to do 20.5 hehe. it's just one of those things. the board manufacturer didn't anticipate multipliers of above 12.5

no... im doing air cooling and i cant bump the voltage up anymore. i DID manage a 14x multiplier boot, but its not what i was looking for. 13x133= 1729 (default) 14x133= 1862 (a little much for stock voltage)

im working on setting my processor to a 1600+ by cutting and connecting the L3 L4 and L10 bridges, this will give me all multipliers 12.5 and under. but nothing higher which kinda sucks if i wanna switch back.

why bother with the L3 and L4?

just change the L10, it will default to 5.5, and you can go all the way up to 12.5. And it's much easier to reverse just one bridge.
