I setup a friends machine last night and aftre 2 hours of use EVERYTING was warm. Warm like a car heater warm. I removed the side panel and i bet you within 30 mintues the room woul dbe toasty.
Question is, Is the PSU supose to be this warm? I understand why and how the GPU and CPU are hot but the PSU... why! ![]() ./Ben

Is your PSU an enermax? If so, I bet a little fire is brewing in there.

the sparkle's are known to run quite hot, but it shouldn't be uncomfortable to hold your hand there.
enermax sucks. pcp&c is the best, cwt antec, and directrons triple fan all are good

the 5v line on almost all enermax drop low after time, or just are too low to begin with. you can mod it so the line is higher, but then you get a 13v on your 12v
pcp&c = PC power and cooling http://pcpowerandcooling.com/ directron sells them i think i have a 475w pcp&c... the voltages are rock stable. my stupid DD5 alarm goes off every so often sayin that it hit 5.25 (too high) but a multimeter on it shows 5.12-5.15 and NOTHING out of that range. MBM shows 4.98-5.04 ugh... im not sure which of the 3 is right, but i trust the multimeter. and the fact that they are the most rock stable PSU compared to all the other ones i have! you can pretty much load up a certain line on the PCP&C, and you will see barely any change in the rest of the lines invest a little bit of $ and get a pcp&c (its the same thing as going for a rio vs an eheim pump) sparkle and antec are basically like Danner pumps =) can you tell i love pcp&c? poor investment there ECU.
I'm with PCP&C here, I'm after a customised 475XE, with higher 12v rails myself

Installed a Tt Volcano 7(?) keep forgetting the model number and name but im pretty sure thats it. It runs the cpu (1.4ghz) at 28 idle. which isn't the BEST but decent enough for a fan.
Ben.
