Ok so im bored, and the forum seems to be slow these days, maybe its just me that is slow.
But Im sitting here maching tops for spir@ls and thought I would put a shout out. (Now before U get pissed and flame me for being in the wrong section, U know I only really hang out in here) I have to say that I am pretty impressed with the quality of work being seen by the "Do it yourselfers" You guys are raising the bar for quality for the BIG GUYS, and I like that. While I am a little guy, it makes me want to make better quality blocks. Keep up the good work guys. Everyone else remember, if you want to do something on your own, Do it. Mess it up a few times. We all have. But you will feel better with your project when its done. You have something going for you, US, we are here to help, repley, and maybe flame.....but its all a learning experiance. So go forth and Design, build and show. We love seeing new stuff. I think right now, out of the little guy, I love Gone_fishing new block. Now if he would just get off his arse and finish it. ![]() Morph..... Keep it up man! peace. Fix

webmedic, I will be totally honest with you.
I was steamingly pissed off when I seen your crystal cooler. Man did I ever cuss. The reason you ask? well Ill tell ya. For some time now I have been working on a design, that I thought would totally kick ass. I mean a year or more. It to was of round stock with an acrylic tube casing. Although your design differes from mine in many ways, I wanted to be the first. I even had my aluminum stock machined for the proto-type. But allas I am not the first. But mine will be better then yours NAH NAH NEE BOOO BOOOO! Nothing you can do about it so PFFTTTTTTTTTT ![]() but I think its a great design. The theroy I had behind it, was to force the heat up the mass instead of outwards. Good to see someone thinking along the same lines as me. I just wanted to give a little shout out to the little guys that have advanced this hobby so much. Thanks

Yea thats more or less what it does thanks for the reply. WE havn't been working on it as long but in one form or another it's been in design for about 5 or 6 months. Wasn't trying to steel from anybody, just wanted to come up with a good design that looked good and performed well. And since the spiral was already taken. Well I had to come up with something. Anyway our original designs were not in the toob but it soon became aparent that it was more effiecent and cooler looking to do it this way. Like you we are looking at marketing these eventually. I've got one that I'm sending around for testing and wat not and we have a few more designs up our sleeves. Stay tooned.

Thanks for Fixitt, I'll do my best to continue improving my desings.
Members of this forum were and are the ones that helped me greatly with my ideas, I might not post a lot, but I sure do read a lot. Btw I just got back from my friend, we're making home made desktop cnc mill, and while working on leads for z-y axis we came with some new ideas, so I'll definetly won't stop with my last design ![]() Hope see some new stuff from your workshop soon. Webmedic, wow great looking block, if it cools half the way it looks, then your work is done ![]() |

Im hoping to have some soon, they are sooo usefull! I did manage to get a sort of good one, It only ha a small bit of runout, soo I can size my tops with that one. Ill try and get you a set as soon as I can get my greedy little hands on them.

masked, the first thing you will want to do, is make sure it preforms. Then get an ASS load of money together and head to a machine shop. Just remember, they will charge you $1 a minute or more. So be sure.
Also check out the article I wrote on www.custom-cooling.com for more insite on this.

youv seen my block rite? how long do you think it would take to mill that thing???
$1 a minit! WOW thats gotta add up, hmm that would be $180 for my last block :P but i made it, too bad all the school has is a crummy desktop cnc, and when i say crummy i mean CRUMMY, im looking to buy one, but i know i wont have enough cash to get a quart of one by winter..... i got so many other things i need to get... and to know it performs great im sending it to Hoot from ocforums to test against other blocks like the gemini, maze blocks swiftech..... and he has an acurate setup, temp sensors in his lines, on die diode sensor...... anyone know what the maze 3 gets? i havent seen anything on it yet! |

Hello guys,
No I didn't try that block. It will take some work to get the code right with my mill. I havn't even setup the mill yet after moving. Once I get my holder back I am going to attempt setting it up here if I can. Pretty much what fixittt said on the mass producing. He knows better than I about that. Well I will check in when I can. Life is getting real busy again. |
