as you are starting from scratch, I'd recommend you just buy a kit, cooltechnica.com sell some nice stuff

For my first setup I got everything from Danger Den. They are also very good about responding to emails if you have any tech questions. You can also email me if you have any questions. I would be glad to help out.

Try Dangerden, and D-Tek (dtekcustoms.com). They're both awesome.

Water block at danger den for uner 20$ i beleive (could be somewhere else) heater core is a junk yard job, you can build an airtrap for like 5$ with parts from home depot (i have a pic of one in another tread on this site) and the pump is the budget breaker at 55$ or so for a good one

Vector, you have to decide what kind of water cooling you want.
My starter system was a maze2, black ice xtreme, eheim 1250 pump, and some tubing. It ran me about $200 with all the fixins. You could look at Una's last article here and see that you can get OK water cooling for around 50 bucks. This is the kit I would reccomend. maze2 or 3 (COPPER TOP MAZE3) -> $42 ViaAqua 1300 pump -> $22 Black Ice Xtreme -> $66 10ft Tygon Tubing -> $20 8 Screw-type Hose Clamps -> $6 DD Resivor -> ??? that would provide superior cooling for about $160 dollars. -Zoson EDiT: WB from DD, pump from link on front page of ProCooling, BI-X from link on front page of Procooling, Tygon from wherever, clamps from ace hardware.

Both DDen and DTek have great kits.
The latest waterblock from DTek is a beauty. If i had to start now I'd go with DTek because their kit include a heatercore (great and inexpensive). On the other hand DDen blocks (CPU and GPU) are awesome. If you go that way get the blocks from DDen and buy your heater core at a local scrapyard. Get a Eheim at a pet shop or aquarium store. |
