Yes, it is all copper. 1/2" inlet and outlet. The tubes are 5/8" with turbulator fins. The radiator is headered style and is designed to operate in low air flow environments.

The coils are low pressure drop and flow up to 14 GPM. Rated at 300 PSI.

Ben, the radiator is manufactured by Perma-Cool and is designed to cool race engines up to 600 HP. Cost was almost $300.00 with fittings.

Thanks!

Very cool! Just curious: why did you decide against buying a water chiller? The costs are comparable.

I actually considered alot of options e.g. Pelt cooling/vapochill/water chilling/phase change. I finally opted for this design as it involves the least amount of maintenance. I really do not have as much time as I would like to play.

I also think that this system is scalable as to allow water chilling or TEC cooling in the future.

Thanks!

Thanks Jeff. The radiator is 20" X 10" X 1.5" overall. The cooling area is 16" X 9" X 1.5".

I have been fortunate in that I can indulge in this hobby and I won't be missing too many meals after spending $300.00. Although my fat ass probably needs to (not to mention my wife).

I am having a custom acrylic case fabricated for me. The interior dimensions are 36" X 14" X 18". The radiator will mount inside the case on the back panel.

An acrylic shroud is also being fabricated to ensure top radiator performance.

Thanks!

However fortunate you might be to be able to pay that kind of dough for your hobby....that's still a lot of cash!!! Are you shooting for MaximumPC Rig 'O the Month or something??? "Spare no expense?"

"Low air flow" that sounds sweet !
How about passive cooling with that beauty ?
I'd like to know how it performs..

Hi gmat. I think that passive cooling in a low heat dissipation environment would be possible. In such a case I would be more inclined to mount the radiator outside the case.

Thanks!

Thats a nice rad. It looks like a Fluidyne more than a PermaCool. Wonder if Fluidyne made it for them. I have looked at one similar to that for an oil/tranny cooler for my car.

You have a good eye Joe. My radiator is very similar to the Fluidyne Ultralite cooler. I contemplated purchasing one of those, but opted for the Perma-Cool based on its dimensions. The performance is similar to the Fluidyne models.

I do not know if Fluidyne manufactured these for Perma-Cool...Interesting thought...Thanks!
