Some people say that for a reservoir the inlet should be "higher" than the outlet. Other people say vice versa. How should I build my sysytem for filling and for usual work?
Thank everybody. |

FWIW I put my inlet at the bottom so that in case of a leak it will take a little longer to drain all the coolant out of the loop.
Otherwise I really doubt it will make any difference. |

The inlet (water going into the res) should be higher, simply because an air trap's purpose is to allow air to float up, and out of the loop. If the inlet is lower, it will still work, but a lot of the air will get sucked right through, instead of floating out of the loop. It'll just take longer, that's all (i.e. 2-3 days, instead of an hour).
