Quick pump questions

S--t, pressed backspace in the browser and lost my post...

anyway

1) Any issues with mounting a magdrive (eheim1048) close to the CPU, say where the rear exhaust fans should be? mag field?

2) There are 2 holes on the bottom of the 1048, parallel to the impeller shaft, that run all the way thru the pump, not sure about larger eheims. Could I use these for a unique mounting system of some sort? Are they at all necesary for the pump to work?

I wish I could post pictures of some sort...no camera

2-dunno, but I'd probably leave them alone.

1- not recommanded but why would you want to? pumps are supposed to be at the lowest point of the loop so you can prime it easy. the little dinky pumps us watercoolers use don't prime themselves

2- it would be great to get pics, but if you donno best thing to do is leave them alone

1 - i dont forsee a problem. i used a danner mag5 pump 4-6 inches away from my 2 ibm HDD for over 6 months and to this day they are both still running stong and without data loss. these are 75gxp drives even, so i have all the odds running against me...

2 - yeah the pump shoulda come with a little plastic stand thing, just so it doesnt fall on its side.... thats what it was designed for but i'm sure you could rig something up using those no probs
