I'm ready to start my phase-change experiments, I've been reading, studying, and researching for months, and I finally have everything I could possibly need. Except for these few things. . .
1. My first system, will be using scrap materials, old compressor, etc. How can I make sure all the freon is gone far away, before I light up the torch and kill myself when I find that the freon is still hanging around? 2. What would be better to start off with (I have both, same cost) an air conditioner (8,000 BTUs) or a dehumidifier (25 pints)? I think the AC, no? |

I'd say the AC.. Just take whatever unit has a larger compressor..
Also.. To remove all of the freon.. I do believe that giving the system a good vacuum will do it.. Using a vacuum pump on the fill/suction line .. I'm sure you know how to do this. Good luck |
