Default Eopx 8k3a+ northbridge hs removal...

Eopx 8k3a+ northbridge heatsink removal...

Has anyone removed one of these before? And if so did it damage the motherboard? The reason I ask is mine appears to be glued on.

Dint hurt mine......... its just held on by stick tape-- just twist off- or if its on there tight--- just slap it in the fridge-- for 15min-- take it out- use a Credit card- and place the cc under the heatsink /over the board- use a flat head screwdriver and then pry it off- SPyder

thanks...
I was gonna take it off one way or another... (looking at hammer in corner of room...) but wanted some feedback first. Hope I don't have to try the fridge trick though (I don't want to clean it out enough to fit my mobo in there

grasp by 2 sides and pull very easy maby twist like the other guys suggested.. i did this too, take a look at the thermal tape and youll prob laugh, it only touches the 4 corners of the chip... its really pointless...

once again thanks I feel I can proceed.... I'll let yall know how it works out... I still gotta fabricate my nb water block (broke bad and bought the cpu waterblock though), but really wanted to know if it was really glued on or not... I'll let yall know how the project is comming later when I get a little farther along...

I am still in the gathering/planning stage (however the External Radiator Cube is almost complete
the ultimate goal in my case is removing as many fans as possible (got 6 running now!) Any overclocking will just be icing on the cake
