Well since my mega large Volvo 240 radiator (10,3"x7,8"x1,9") doesn't fit in my Chieftec miditower I have plans on getting a new.
I've got 160$ and a 4 feet silicontube. A friend of mine will build the waterblock (I'll insert a image) so i'll only have to pay for the raw material. A 1048 eheim pump cost 53-58$ and I will need one more silicontube, that will cost me something like 10$. The problem right now is the choose between several radiators... So I will have like 95$ to spend after the eheim and siliconhose. I have checked a load of websites and reviews. According to the following sites the Maxxxpert Mono seems quite good: http://www.water-cooling.com/reviews...tek_set2_3.htm http://www.cluboverclocker.com/revie...xxxpert/p3.htm http://www.overclockers.com/articles549/index02.asp http://www.amdzone.com/articleview.c...id=1019&page=3 But according to Iceheart and some other guess on the forum the temp should be just little bit over the room temp. And the room temp here is like 75f and according to most black ice & maxxxpert mono test there cpu has reached like 105f at max cpu load. That isn't a little bit over the room temp... The thing that will be cooled is a 1,4GHz Amd Thunderbird. And how much better is really the Pro & Extreme versions of Black Ice? Is it really worth the cash? So here I sit with a 92mm & 120mm papst, 4f. siliconhose, a to big volvo 240 radiator and 160$. Any good ideas or thoughts please speak out. ![]() ::Local prices:: Black Ice Extreme - 104$ Black Ice Prime - 69$ Black Ice Pro - 73$ Maxxxpert Mono - 52$ Ford Fiesta -83 Radiator (7,1"x5,9") - 21-31$ Freight cost is like 14$ standard... The waterblock btw:: ![]()

The Maxxxpert is really not up to the competition. Try and look for a thread i started called something like "rad shoot out" in 'news from the web" forum.
The BiX should be the best performer in your list, however i don't know about the Ford rad. (heatercore ?) If it's an heatercore go for it. If not you might consider Bi2, DTek (or other) heatercore, etc... |
