I saw a thread at Extreme systems that you hope to have a Gfx block design done by the first of the year. Also saw that the guy that makes and markets the "Scoop" shroud for heater cores is going to use your block as part of a kit. Good sale there.
Q1. How's the Gfx design coming along for you, and what can you share about it with us? Q2. HOw are your sales going 4 U?? I hope I speak for all here in saying I hope that sales are exceeding your best hopes. Q3. Will a silver version be out during q1 of 2003 of your CPU White Water block. Q4. Do you intend to try and find a maker/distributer in the U.S.A. for your blocks? Glad to hear any other info you can share. Thanks |

1) Still trying to figure out how to make it all fit - it will be micro-channels, but not as fine as in the CPU block, in order to lower costs. It won't be a direct impingement block. It will be 40x40mm peltier compatible with an optional cold plate. Working through mounting specifications. Really waiting for some confirmation on the new GF-FX blocks mounting specs. Having troubles figuring out how best to handle clearances for both R9700 and GF4Ti mountings in the same block. I'll either do different caps for each (cheaper), or throw in an additional mounting bracket for the GF4Ti's (more expensive)
2) Sales are good - have still yet to recoup my initial outlay - although it's getting close - 10 more blocks should see something that resembles "profit". Presently partway into my second batch of 50 3) I'm currently investigating getting a very limited run of silver bases made up and getting prices for them. Presently at the stage of sourcing silver ingots of the required size. 4) WS_JP, the guy who makes the Scoop and lives in the USA, and I are presently in negotiations to bring blocks to the USA at a price that negates the shipping costs. Basically he'll sell them in the USA at the equivalent Australian price and you only pay local shipping costs. He also intends to offer the blocks together with his radiators as part of the "Insanity" kit (his name - not mine). Locally I intend to expand into getting my range of "Big Arse/Little Arse" radiators made up again using the machining shop's experience to cut down on my manual labor which is what forced me to stop in the first place. One is a dual fan shroud radiator that was one of the original inspirational ideas for the "Scoop" (WS_JP and I have had a pretty close relationship for a while now), and the other is sized about mid-way between a Black Ice Xtreme and a DTek Heatercore but due to the fin density cools about as well as the DTek. I'll only be selling these locally in Australia though, but may export on specific request. After that, full kits for the local Aussie market. That's about it for the short-term (3-6 months) |

Glad to see your making good progress and are close to a profit.
The Gfx should be a shoo-in for sales combined with your White Water design. I'm not up on the rads you made in the past, but best of luck there as well. Good to hear from you again here. Thanks |

Hmm?, it's a HC with a shroud on it, or is it the shroud only?. not my bag  ...
What's the coue with your rad Cathar?, is it built from scratch or a converted HC?(Thermatrix?)... PS, just changing the name of your block to 'White Water' form 'Little River' must have doubled your sales!, whoever thought up the name 'White Water' deserves a free block! ![]() PS, I thought it was just my ISP (with your pics)... |

For the Little Arse (pictured below) it's a '98-onwards Ford Festiva core. LOL - so it was you who said the name "White Water". I couldn't remember. Maybe not a free block - but how about free shipping which results in a block basically "at cost"? Little Arse (now that my web host is up again): ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The radiators were a bit of a joke name, carrying on with the Australian obsession of referring to things in relation to the rear end. The name was obviously good enough to steal though, as one Australian vendor impicitly assumed the right to name their near-clone radiators with the shortened term of "BA". I'd rename the radiators and stick a brand copyright on them in the future. There's no way I'd be getting the silver extruded for such small quantities. While I don't know the exact details, I imagine getting a cheap lost-wax investment cast made up would do the job just nicely for such small quantities. |

if i were you i would even get the copper cast for the waterblocks
in the long run it is cheaper and faster you only have to pay for the price of the cast. You would have to lap da bottom but hey you might be doing this already. Swiftech is getting the copper bottoms for thier MCW50 cast! As for the silver it might be a waiste of time and money because Unless it preforms better then a TEC/Waterblock setup it will definatly be more expencive, it will not be worth your time. But hey who am i to judge. I say go right ahead i would love to see the results ![]() |

Cannot get copper cast with the channels this deep and fine. Already investigated that path. Casting typically requires about 3mm of clearance between large deflections, which is why Swiftech may be able to get theirs cast.
As for the silver bases, people are just happy to have silver and don't necessarily want to go TEC. It's not something based in practicality, but if people are asking me for it, and it's doable, and they pay me, then I'll provide. |

I'm one individual who is very interested in a silver White Water block. My goal is the most capable cooling system possible without TEC's or Phase use.
Thus my interest in a silver block. Combined with a powerfull pump, large hc & large tubes this should make a really good cooling system without the TEC's and such. Nothing wrong with those things, but I'm not personally comfortible with working with them. |

Speaking of silver, Cathar I STILL have 1lb of silver sitting in my office waiting to be melted down... not as easy as one might think...

Cathar I think your rads are real sharp, nice work. I like the fact you have the fans outside the shroud where you can get at them. Those Scoop's are nice looking to, but wouldn't be as easy to work
