Hi,
Check out my new toy.
A guy I know is building these things and this was an early prototype he had for sale.
He had a couple but I bought the cheapest one…it has a couple of scratches but they are pretty tiny.

yeh, it's well made
via aqua 1300
the hc fins measure 8x6 and its 2" thick so it look to be pretty efficient.
I think the number on the face, 2200, stands for watts...not sure

Good thing, it can be pretty good as portable unit with some quick disconnects...
One question though, if the fans are pulling the air inside, where's the exhaust opening? Can't be seen if it is on the side or bottom of the case?

the picture isn't clear, there is a intake grille on the left side, covering the hc
I paid 175 but like I said it had a couple of scratches.
He had a couple with eheims (also scratched) they were 200.

I can see how BigBen easily made the assumption we were the same person as I took the liberty to link directly to your photos and thread after we talked today (did not think you would mind).

Nope, Wynjym and Zippy are pals that run in the same circle, but I get better Madonion Scores on my KT3 than he does on his! (Uh, Radeon 9700 here helps!). He does have pelts in his water setup though....and a nice (home made)block although my new whitewater may do better (but not as mirror-finished!.) Waiting on the fittings.

and wynjym and I are mutual buds with the TechCool guys....I guess we both like this stuff as we talk about it with each other all the time.

So, what do you think of the box? Think there is a good market for it?

I like the box actually, but it is pricey, at $170-200.

It does however appear to be fairly small (compact), and nicely finished, which is a big plus.

I think that if you refined your product a bit, and lower the price(your cost), you'd have a real winner.

You have to show us a pic of the innards of this thing! What's the cap on top for?

You'll also need to post full specs! As it is now, there's no way to tell what it can do.

If you need a hand/ideas, e-mail me. Heck, I might even drive to Austin! (I'm in Houston).

Would it be possible to work on the size/aesthetics so that the box was a good match for the little Shuttle cubes that people like so well? That might be a good way to hit a niche.

Hi,
I got this thing because I plan on watercooling my backup-puter, but I woke up this morning and realized it allowed me to clean out my basically unattended 18month old cooler loop. This loop is a 5 gallon pail with an eheim 1250 submerged in it going to a large heater core that is hung from the trusses below my floor (yeh a couple of holes had to be drilled but they got filled with hose and then covered with some loose fitting carpet). There are also a couple of fans sucking through it. So.....why not clean that out with some chemicals and check to make sure everything still looks good to go????? until now I couldn't shut it down long enough....!!! I took the hoses that exit my chiller and connected them to the TC outlets, crossed my fingers and switched it on. It is so far (all day long) operating at about the same temp as my homemade unit but since I don't monitor the water temps (remember my chiller) it is hard to say. It is very quiet.
The thing on top is where you fill the unit and I noticed a little glow this morning...there is some sort of light that glows up through this inlet, very cute but of no real purpose (that I can see).

I think you mean to say 2200 BTU/hr is 644 watts.
