Default my first wc setup - great except for northbridge fan

Thanks for all your help guys - I finally have my first wc setup running. I still need to rework my tubing a bit and do some cosmetic stuff and I'll post pics. I can overclock my geforce a lot more now - I'm getting a 3dmark2001 of 8372 - not bad for a 1.2ghz tbird and a geforce 3!

I have new problem now - my damn northbridge fan is the loudest thing in my box!!! I have 4 panaflow 120's - 2 on the rad and 2 on the back of my case all using lm317 voltage regulators to make them quiet. My hard drive is in a silentdrive enclosure - yes they really work great. But that damn northbridge fan is so loud.

Here is the problem - my maze2 covers one of the mounting holes on my mobo so I am not sure if I can use another fan - or even another waterblock. Has anyone replaced the northbridge fan on a shuttle ak31 board who is also using a maze2?

GaretJax

Here are my specs:

YYCube Case
Shuttle AK31 version 3.1
AMD 1.2 TBird running 9X155 (1404) Temp 33C full load
512 Crucial 2100 DDR
IBM GXP60 40 GB
Gainward Geforce 3 PowerPack OC (260/525)
Black Digidoc
Eheim 1250
Rad from Autozone 10 1/2 X 5 5/8 X 2
4 120mm Panaflow M fans running off two LM317 voltage regulators

I've used epoxy to mount northbridge cooling devices. That should suit your problem just fine. I'd have to see a pic of how the Maze-2 covers up the mounting hole, but if it is just by a little bit, you could use a dremel and shave off some of the maze-2 to add some room. Epoxy is a sure bet though. I want pix!

Kevin,

I need to build my cold cathodes and then I'll do pics - should be done sometime this week. I am most proud of my clear pvc airtrap. Also everything is black - cd, floppy, and I was even able to find a black digidoc. I painted my autzone rad black as well.

Black digidocs are at www.directon.com for $69. You can also order the front faceplate from them to turn a biege digidoc into a black one for $10.
