Iwaki Pump Questions
In my next case I will be using the Iwaki MD-20RZ(T) ( http://www.iwakipumps.com/pub/SpecSheets/MD1520.pdf ).
Here is a thread pertaining to my setup: http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=5543 Q1: I noticed on a few pics that the piece that houses the inlet anf oulet portions of the pump is one piece and that it is attached to the pump with six bolts. In the picture below you will see how I plan to rotate that piece 60 degrees ( rotate one bolt ). First of all I would like to know if this is even possible? Anyone with them that have taken them apart, would it be possible tro rotate that last piece 60 degrees to the right? If possible, would it impede flow or pressure at all? Q2: I am interested in buying this pump : Iwaki MD 20RLZT 100 volt water pump, high pressure rated from this retailer : http://www.deepseagallery.com/iwaki_pumps_and_parts.htm .Is this the same pump as the MD20-RZ(T) listed here: http://www.iwakipumps.com/pub/SpecSheets/MD1520.pdf ? Thanks, Brian W

Q1;
Allthough I havn't taken my MD20RZ iwaki apart, I have an exploded diagram of the pumps component parts, I see nothing stopping you from taking the impeller cover of and rotating it to any angle, it won't have any affect on performance. Q2; it's the same. [edit] oh the pumps come in 2 different flavours RZ has clamp on hose fittings, and RZT has threaded fittings

Q2: the W means that it is american motor on it, versus the japanese ones which are said to be better (cooler, quieter, more dependable, but more expensive).
Q1: i don't have a clue. peace. unloaded |

yup, rotate however you wish
be QUITE careful in purchasing an RZ is always, and only, an RZ - despite what vendors may tell you why buy the 100VAC motor (made for the Japanese market) ? - it will run much hotter, as in MUCH they do make a MD 20 motor for 120VAC |

Bill (or anyone else)
Do you know whether the various impeller assemblies (R, RZ, RX) are interchangeable for a given Iwaki base model? (say MD-20) |
