As far as i know, no.

Because there's alot of programs that just make an perfect image of the data (bits) on the CD. So when they copy it, they also copy the corrupted data, where it is, and without actually reading it as a whole.

Programs like BlindRead and others can eliminate those types of copy protection.

I might be wrong, but its my 0.02 cents.

BlindRead, Nero (when configured properly through its arcane interface), CloneCD... there's a large choice.
Beware though if it's a copy protection like SafeDisk v2 the copy won't work without a patch or the original.
try gamecopyworld.com or cdmediaworld.com .

There is nothing a regular user could do to prevent someone from copying a CD if they want to. Even the expensive commercial copy protections can be copied if you have the right writer and the right software. eg. my older Plextor 24x CDRW can make perfect copies of games using up to SafeDisk 2.7 (perfect as in no crack at all is needed to run the copy). After SafeDisk 2.8 games become quite hard to copy, but there are a few models of CDRW out there that can do it. Other commercial copy-protections are typically easier than SafeDisk (especially V2.8+) to copy.

if u want to know why, because i recorded 6 bands, in our school (remember that i am only 17, that's why school not work) at the battle of the bands that we orginized in january. It took me a lot of work, believe me, editting sound takes up a lot of time and since the buyers are students [they could not be students, but students especially], they are orginising themselves to buy only one copy and then copy the cd that they bought between them. what is making me furious is that the cd is not expensive and it is of quite a good quality keeping in mind that i had no studio available and no soundproofing {the recording took place in a theatre, where the battle of the bands was orginized}.

if any one of you may want a sample, i may provide one. there are 14 tracks on the cd, 2 tracks for each band and the guest band played 4 tracks, so 14 in all.

All in all, i'm not going to keep the profit for myself, but it is going to the video crew of the next year, and the video crew (which i was part of) needs money to do all that work. The products of our video crew of this year are: the cd, the videos on video cassette and we also captured the event and made them on cds div-x format.

I hope you understand my english because it is a crap. thank you for your help

You can't just "get" safedisk - it's more of a technology that you license to use than a product. And it only works for data CD's (I've only ever seen it on games, though it would theoretically work on any software product that requires the CD be in the drive while the software is running)

You should have said you wanted Audio copy protection earlier, I think everyone has been assuming you wanted to protect some software. Knowing that, I can say you have about no chance at all of stopping any copying. The big music companies still haven't found a way to stop CD copying yet (there are a few copy-protection methods out, all of them have simple work-arounds), so the average user is pretty much out-of-luck.

If you don't mind having to play the CD from computer only, you can look into some of the DRM technologies for digitally signing compressed audio. I know WMA9 has DRM built-in, though I don't know if it's available for regular users without buying some extra licences of some sort. But something like this is the only way you're going to prevent perfect digital copies, and it still doesn't prevent someone making an analog copy of it.

Tom's hardware has a good article on CD protection, but I think it applies more to CD-ROM (i.e. software) than music CDs.

I'm afraid that your only option is an awareness campaign.

What do you mean by long-play writer? CD's can hold the amount of audio they are advertized to hold - a 74-minute disk holds 74 minutes of audio. It is possible to overburn the disk to get a bit more on it, though in my personal experience you can only get another 30-seconds or so onto the end of a disk, and half the players out there won't read that last bit. If you need to hold more CD-Audio, get bigger disks - 80-min disks are the same price as 74-min ones, and if you look around you can find them up to 99-minute (though some players and some writers won't be able to go to the end of such a disk)

If you need more audio than that, you need to resort to either multiple disks, or compressed audio (eg. mp3). The pros/cons of multiple disks are obvious, as for compression, you get to stay on a single disk for potentially 10x the amount of audio, but now it will only play on computers/MP3 players. The big advantage to compression is back in your copy-protection problem - you can apply a good DRM (digital rights management) technology to the compressed files to prevent unauthorized copying - if you are interested in that I would advise you go to microsofts web-site and read everything you can find about WMA9.

Its impossible dude. Even if u made an un copyable cd (impossible in many respects) they can still rip the audio to the hd and burn it, avioding a direct copying therefore bypassing the protection.

If i were you i would try to make it so that people would "want" to buy the original. Put in a nice jewel jacket (il-Carta tal kaxxa) or make autographed copies or something. Use your imagination.

Min ima rahal intkom?
