I will be using 5/8" hose barbs w/ 1/2"ID (1/8" wall) tubing. What sized clamps should I get? I was thinking of getting the 25/32" ones, but then I might decide to put a 1/2" hose barb in the center of my block for more water velocity. I guess if I do do that I'll have to get one smaller one at ACE or someplace? Does the 25/32" sound right for my main the system?

You'll need even larger ones than that.
1/2 ID plus 1/8 wall (twice), is 3/4. If you're going to stretch it all over a 5/8 barb, then you're at 5/8 + 1/8 *2, so 7/8. Of course the wall won't be 1/8 by the time you stretch it, but otherwise, that's your clamp's required max size. |

Then they are .03" too small? The next biggest size they have jumps up to 7/8" - 1 1/64". You don't think I could make 0.84375" max-size ones work?

I'd go for the bigger ones, because it'll be best to use a bigger one, and use it undersized, rather than stretching one that's a bit too small.
I dunno, try it! |
