Default Maxi-jet 900 or 1200 inline?

How good are these pumps when run inline? Also, what mods should i do to one to make it run well?

From what i've read, they run a tad hot, but have overheating protection, and the pipes are a little delicate. How would i stretch my 1/2" ID tubing over them? Is it better to go for a barb JB-welded on?

Also, if i buy two of these, is it worth it? What config would i use to get more head out of it?

I'm partial to these because the local aquarium guy was saying he's been running two in his salt-water aquarium for five years without hitch.

Run fine, no mods. Run warm, no problems. Cracked one inlet because of my stupidity(too much clamping pressure).

You fit 1/2 over the inlet by getting the tubing warm and forcing it. If your crafty, you'll find something the same size as the inlet of the pump, take the tubing and put it over that when heated, stick in freezer, pull out, repeat until you're happy.

JB Weld an inlet if you don't want to force the 1/2 and you're not lazy(i'm too lazy to mix JB...)
