Maxi-jet or MagDrive pump?

I see alot of positive info on the Maxi-jet series, besides that they run hot with the higher gph versions, but how does the MagDrive compare? I was looking to get a 350gph version... Anyone have any problems with theirs if they have one?

ive also got a danner mag-drive 3. the housing on mine leaked, but a 2 dollar tube of permatex water pump housing gasket fixed that up quick the pumps not EMP shielded, so it will kinda cause your monitor to flicker if its too close. other than that its fine. runs very quiet (has a low-frequency hum to it) as long as theres no air in the system and the pump doesnt vibrate your case (i used some rubber gromets on the baseplate of the pump to isolate vibrations; it worked pretty good).

Not just cause your monitor to flicker, it may permanently damage the screen. This happened to my mother a few years ago, she had an electric pencil sharpener.

Most likely a case of a screen magnetized to the point where the monitor's built in degausing couldn't take care of it.

Any TV repair place is likely to have a degaussing coil that can easily fix this.

Sliding an empty 'tin' (actually steel) can over the pump, will usually decrease the magnetic interference with the monitor greatly.
