Damaged Radiator, help!

I recently got the Black ICE X2 rad, but in the process of drilling in some bigger holes to mount the 120mm fans i hit some of the channels that carry the coolant. I took out my soldering iron and got to work. Patched the 3!!! holes i maid and seemed to fix the problim. I did notice a small amount of moisture collecting around one of the patches (worst hole), into the test run. The hole i believe exists is so d*mn small, so i think. Any help on fixing my problims would be appreciated, thanks. I would like to get my WC'ed rig runnin so i can put these noisy fans to rest.

Oh, am i done in for, and could the problims reoccure, id like a permanent fix.

I did the same exact thing. I couldn't manage to fix mine I tried filling the holes with solder then JBWELD I couldnt manage to get at all the damage that I had done and wound up buying a new rad.

I know that they make radiator patch stuff that you pour into a radiator and the heat melts the little metal flakes and patches the rad. This might be hard as it will probably get stuck in your pump and you might not have enough heat to melt the patcher.

He's talking about Bar's Leak or StopLeak, they are made for automotive rad's and rely on the much higher temps to work. I doubt it will work for you. I would try to solder again. If you look in plumbing section of a hardware store they sell a soldering paste. You might be able to put a glob of it over the area and then melt it down. It contains a flux so it should stick pretty well.

I been fixin radiators on cars with JB-weld for years, clean it uop so its nice and shiny and follow the instructions, it will fix it.

the only real way to solder on a radiator is with a torch, and if you dont know what your doing, you'll prolly mess it up worse than it already is

i am currently trying JB Kwik Weld on my rad. I also saw that JB had a radiator patch. it was put into the coolant and the steel hardened when it comes in contact with air. it can also prevent leaks.

If you got your BIX from Dangerden call them and tell them what you did they might help you out some.
