Guys, I'm gonna build a box to put all my watercooling stuff inside. I would like to make the box as small as possible but now the only things which is eating 1/3 of the box is the power supply. So I just wonder if you guys have any idea of building a small power supply just to power up the pump and 2 12V 120mm fan? I would really appreciate if any of you guys can come up with a circuit layout...

If everything is 12V, then all you need is a 12v supply. You can look for one, either new or surplus.
Just make sure that they provide enough power!!! |

Oppss... forgot the mention, the pump is using 240V AC from the wall socket...
well the most important part is to get the power for the fan... if there is no way for the pump maybe I could just put another socket head on the box and connect straight to a wall socket... |

as the box will not be very near to my casing, its hard for me to get the 12V supply from my casing psu... |

Like I said, get your own, seperate 12 v supply.
If the pump is 240 Vac, you can have it switch on and off with the same PSU (see pHaestus' article). If you want that box to turn on and off with the PC, that's another problem alltogether. |

I'd look through www.allelectronics.com , or many other places on-line, but your best bet really would be a local electronic and/or surplus shop.

Just have a look around for a 12v adapter...then you will just have to run a thin wire into your box. This entirely eliminates the need for a Powersupply.

Why don't you tear the case off the power supply, chop down the heatsinks, and mount it over your components using the exhaust air over the rad to cool the PSU? Just a thought, and you can get a PSU for next to nothing.

But I now got hold to some power supply circuit design which supply 12V only and I think I can cut the whole circuit down to half the size of what is inside the psu... just that I will need to find the component first... |
