Is 226W a waste?

Are 226W Qmax pelts a waste. My Athlon XP puts out 86.3W of power. If I overclock it by 200% wouldn't it only be putting out around 170W? Obviously a 200% overclock is VERY optimistic, but still. Maybe I just don't understand what Qmax is. Wouldn't it be better to just get a 170W pelt with a high DTmax?

The point of using a Pelt is to go below zero. So why not get a 226 to go below 0, instead of only using 170?

I see your point about the wasted energy, but if you're going to go big, why not go REALLY big?

Qmax is defined as the amount of heat the pelt can transfer with dT=0.

The greater the difference between the actual heat being transferred and Qmax, the greater dT will be.
