Default EMI with Iwaki MD-15 or Danner mag 3?

Well the title about covers it.

Can those who have had, or now use these two pumps comment as to how well they are shielded for EMI. Or anyone who has some info on this topic in regards to these two pumps, please join in.

Sites selling them do not seem to include this info.

No specific data, but I have an MD-20, and it has a metal case, so it should be pretty reasonable.

I do. The Mag 3 has no EMI protection. I have to either have it about 5 feet away from the monitor or turn the pump so as not to have the impeller rotation axis in line with the monitor. I do the second.

The only pumps I'm aware off that have complete (or at least complete as far as I can tell) EMI shielding are the Eheim's and specifically my only personal experience (my buddy boomer235 has one) is with the Eheim 1250. You can park that puppy right next to a monitor with no probs.

Hope this helps.

You can also put a coffee can (or other ferromagnetic shield) around the pump to greatly attenuate the magnetic field. I did some testing a while back with a Mag5 and saw about a 4:1 reduction in the pump's ability to reach out and touch the monitor.
