I've decided to see if I can get my 2100+ running at 2.5 ghz here ( I've been running 2.4 ghz at 1.85v stable, but even one extra mhz on the FSB means instant prime95 failure) and it looks like I'll have to go to at least 2.0V... what would you guys recommend as the maximum for long term operation?

It all depends on your cooling potential tere are eople out ther who voltmod their board to get that higher OC, but they run a m,ore hardcore cooling method.
Rule of thumb: Higher OC = more voltage needed More voltage needed = more heat More heat = more cooling ~ Boli

1.85volts is 100% safe for an AMD. give it more voltage, and you risk your CPU. if you often buy new hardware, you can give it more. if you want your CPU to last, don't give it more then 1.9volts

ive had both a 2400+ (one of the early chips) and a barton 2500+ running over 1.9v 24/7 for several months without problems. ive never been able to overvolt a chip so far thats its died and ive given the barton 2.25v. you are more likely to kill them from overheating so as long as they are cool they should be fine. however over 2v is risky for day to day use if you want to keep the chip for more than 6-12 months

I run XPs and tbreds up to 2.2V with water. It's probably a bad idea but I swap CPUs every few months and then the overvolted chip migrates to rigs where it only sees 1.85 or less. Never had an AMD CPU die from voltage, and I gave a 1600+ 2.8V by mistake one time

I've run all my AMD-processors over 2V for several months, they have been working fine. Except for one, my duron 600 that i cramed 3V+ into while LN2-cooling it. It died
