can you part it out or not?
how much for the rad and the whitewater? PTS i know people will scream at me for this one, but please understand my reasoning first. I dont want this guy to get discouraged by a small mishap. I do want him to watercool now that he bought all this stuff and invested all that money so here it comes: you should call up intel and RMA the proc. (i know its a bad thing to do but in this case i would allow it) From personal experience i had a 1.6A fry on my because of a bad power supply, the store refused to pay for the proc even though they aknowledged that it was a bad PSU. so i RMAed the proc to INTEL. I know it wasnt INTEL's fault but i was in a really bad mood and was being screwed by the store. Last edited by dima y; 10-28-2003 at 07:39 PM. |

in a case like this i agree, it's not a horribly immorable thing to do. I just don't get what fried the cpu...
but it really doesn't cost intel a ton to replace the cpu, most of the cost isn't in the material for the processor which is aboout all it would cost them to send a new one |

Ugh, I can't believe someone around here would stoop to trying to con a company into paying for their mistakes. How about taking responsibility for your actions and making a keychain or something out of this one to remember to be more careful in the future.
I may have fried my (original value) $750 CAN video-card (AllInWonder 9700 Pro, 1-year old come december) last weekend while cleaning the factory heatsink glue off its core (I've NEVER seen goo harden like that stuff before, had to scrape it off with a knife and i think i chipped off a couple corners slightly). The new water-cooling system for it is leak-testing as I type this from work so I don't even know if I need a new one or not till later today or tomorrow depending how things go, and I need to have this computer together and running for a LAN party this weekend. If it is fried I'll be out looking for a cheap 9800Pro AllInWonder later this week. |

That is who I'm taking it up with. Ask questions before jumping to conclusions or keep quiet.

What are you 12? If you'd don't have anything constructive or helpful to say then please don't respond to my thread. You're wasting everyone's time.

Dude, you are calling me 12? Who turned their computer on while knowing the block wasn't installed right? Who's trying to get a free CPU for something you know YOU broke? You clearly said it was not mounted right and yet you turned the system on.
Makes good sig material anyway. Spelling? ![]() So are you still selling this stuff or not? If so I would suggest to anyone thinking about buying it to not bother. Who knows what else this idiot messed up or how he will try to screw you. And fear not, I will not post in this thread again. EDIT: This isn't even the right section for selling stuff: http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/for...?s=&forumid=10 You are one dumb SOB. Last edited by jaydee116; 11-03-2003 at 08:27 PM. |

No one solicited your input so keep it to yourself. So I'm a "dumb SOB" because I didn't notice the "For Sale" forum? How ridiculous. And, no, you're the dumb SOB. Too bad you can do nothing but stick your nose where it's not wanted. I admitted to following the directions. Nothing more...nothing less.
And there's no fear here. Quote:

you also admitted to continuing despite knowing something was wrong.
Thats not so intelligent. And i'd say a post in a forum constitutes a request for input by forum members. Also: Quote:

And i'de say everyone makes mistakes...what kinda dent is trying to get a prossessor from intel gonna make in there budget. Hell i'de do it just becuase intel charges an assload for something that doesnt cost half the prive to make. Dude try and get what you can, better to take the initiative and get a free ride then not have asked and not have recieved. Thats my input.

"They put the prices up and are making plenty of money, they can afford it!" "It's their fault for making me want it so much!" "It's not my fault that I can't afford it, so I took it anyway!" What a disgraceful set of moral standards. In future, turn it around and imagine that you were making something and that someone decided to rip you off. |

I haven't yet. I bought a new board to see if that turns out to be the problem. And I don't have to justify anything to you or anyone else.

I'm not trying to rip anyone off and I'm not looking for a free ride at all. I want D-Tek to take responsibility for putting faulty instructions in with their product (which they have admitted to). Yes, I admit that things didn't seem right, but how was I to know that further down the instructions that things wouldn't work out? I can't believe my original post has turned in to be this insane bashing that I have received. This certainly isn't a place I want to hang out.
